The next day was nice, clear blue skies and warm weather. Cassiopeia sat in the stands and watched as the chariots raced around the track, Will and Delilah were at her side again, they had hardly left her since she came back, and where cheering wildly for their siblings.
She watched Percy closely, taking note of the new, meter wide shield he seemed to have obtained as he engaged in combat with Beckendorf. He was winning.
Greek fire erupted in the Hephaestus cabin, Ares and Hermes swerving to miss the wreckage. Annabeth was steering, pulling the reins for their last turn. The crowed roared. They had won.
Everyone mobbed them as they came over the finish line, cheering their names until Annabeth yelled over the noise. "Hold up! Listen! It wasn't just us!" The crowd didn't want to be quiet but Annabeth made herself heard. "We couldn't have done it without somebody else! We couldn't have won this race or got the Fleece or saved Grover! We owe our lives to Tyson, Percy's..."
"Brother!" Percy said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "Tyson, my baby brother." Tyson blushed. The crowed cheered. Cassiopeia planted a kiss of Percy's cheek. The roaring got louder after that.
"Tyson, my brother." Percy whispered, a smile on his lips. Poseidon, too, smiled, proud of his two sons.
"Congratulations, hero!" She yelled over the noise before he and Annabeth got carried away by the Athena cabin.
"You're down bad, darling." Silena tossed an arm around Cassiopeia's shoulder, kissing the side of her head. "It's good you're back safe."
"It's good to be back." Cassiopeia beamed, watching Chiron bestow the laurel wreaths to her dear friends.
The afternoon was just as amazing as the morning, Cassiopeia spent it with the Aphrodite cabin, doing each other's hair and nails while gossiping about boys and battle strategies.
"Oh how I wish I could have just adopted you." Aphrodite sighed, "you always got along so well with my children." Nyx didn't take kindly to this comment, glaring at the goddess, not that it bothered her much.
Grover had announced he was staying for the rest of the summer before resuming his quest for Pan. He had been gifted time off and new reed pipes by his boss for not dying and clearing the way for future searchers.
Later on, during an archery class, Chiron had pulled Percy aside and told him he had fixed the issue with Meriwether Prep. "How had you managed that?" Percy asked, glancing to where Cassiopeia was helping fix Delilah's form.
Chiron's eyes twinkled. "I merely suggested that the mortals had seen something else - a furnace explosion that was not your fault."
"You said that, and they bought it?"
"I manipulated the mist. Someday, when you're ready, I'll show you how to do it."
"You mean I can go back to Meriwether?"
Chiron raised his eyebrow. "No. You're still expelled. But you're not in any legal trouble, which was a relief to your mother. Oh, and speaking of your mother.." he unclipped his cellphone from his quiver and handed it to the boy. "It's high time you called her."
The call had gone... well. After she got out her rant about putting himself in danger and forgetting to call, she was just glad he was home safe. She urged him to stay at camp for the rest of the summer before assuring him that she would find him a new school when he came back.
Sally smiled sadly, she would always be glad to know that her baby boy was safe and sound after his quests, and as much as it pained her every time, she would urge him to stay where it was safe for him.
