Rassler nods, a sympathetic but concerned expression on his face.

My voice holds emotion when I speak again.

"My wolf wants to meet him. I want my wolf to meet him... but if that can never happen-"

"Hazel, don't think about all that." Rassler shuffles closer to me, then gently rubs my back. "We'll figure something out. I know it's hard to wait it out, but maybe another situation like tonight will unfold itself and you'll have the perfect opportunity to tell him."

I pay close attention to what Rassler is saying, but another thought comes across my mind.

"Tobias Reed. He's from an opposing pack, not that it matters since we technically don't belong to it anymore... but his daughter, her name is Scarlette. She's fated mates with Khai. He has to be a werewolf."

Rassler looks at me like he doesn't want to say or do anything to hurt me, but he looks doubtful, and he shakes his head.

"Werewolves can be mated to humans. It's rarer, but it definitely happens."

"You're right. I'm just getting ahead of myself."

"But if Khai is fated mates with that girl, won't she tell him? I mean, I feel like if he doesn't find out from you, he's going to find out from someone else anyways. Even if he's not a werewolf himself, he's going to find out we exist one way or another."

"I want to be the one to tell him, but I don't know how too. He'll know I lied, it's inevitable. But it'll be worse if someone else tells him because then he might think I was never going to."

Rassler nods.

"Wait until you're ready, Hazel. Better have one of you ready than neither. Scarlette probably won't say anything. I mean, she knows he doesn't know he's a werewolf, right?"
I shrug.

"I'm not sure. Tobias knows Khai can't shift, but I'm not sure whether or not he told his daughter. He said he wouldn't tell Khai, and he'd tell Scarlette not to either. So no, she won't say anything, but that doesn't necessarily mean she knows that Khai can't shift, or that he doesn't know werewolves exist."

"Either way, she won't be much of a problem for now, it seems like. So take that time to prepare." Rassler advises.

I nod, and he plants a soft kiss on my forehead.

"Don't stress too much, Hazel." Rassler gets to his feet and stretches, his muscles rippling under his shirt.

He's strong, almost as much as Jatix.

He has to be right about Khai, but I don't want him to be.

***Tyrone's POV***

After having given up on sleep, I pace around Khai's room. Nightmare after nightmare brought me to this state, and the only thing I'm glad about right now is that I don't have school tomorrow.

I should probably tell Khai what's going on in my life right now, but I don't want to. Especially not after so much good is happening in his.

I'm surprised he even got himself to sleep, really.

At times like this, I envy him.

I feel exhausted. I'm just so fucking done with everything, then this insomnia shit to top it off?

The only time I'm not dwelling on everything going on is when I'm asleep, and now, I can't even stay asleep.

Though I guess if I'm having nightmares, it's the same as when I'm awake anyways. Maybe even worse.
