(A/N: I really couldn't come up with a legit title for this chapter lol. Also, there's a lot of switching POV's in here, I apologize in advance)
***Scarlette's POV***
"I'm glad I handled things with Mrs. Laney. She would've called an ambulance if it weren't for me. Can you imagine that? They run one blood test on Khai and it's over. They'd find out, or they'd blow things way out of proportion and think there's something wrong with him that'd be way off." I say to Aimee as the two of us walk to PE.
"Yeah, props to you. And Zevon, he was pretty convincing. It was good he was there to back you up." Aimee adds.
"We shouldn't have judged him like that. There's just so much negative stuff they feed into our brains about vampires that it's hard not to dislike them. But Zevon is nice. I just wish this whole war between our kinds would stop, y'know?"
Aimee nods.
"I think everyone from the younger generations wants that." She tells me.
"Maybe this is the first step. Being friends with Zevon, I mean. He's a good person, and he was nice to us right from the start without any of the prejudice against us clouding his judgement. Can't say the same about ourselves." Scarlette says rather sheepishly.
"Do you think he has mind control powers?" Aimee asks. "Maybe he used them to help convince Mrs. Laney."
"I'm not sure. But even if he does, I don't necessarily think he put them to use this afternoon. I think maybe he's just naturally convincing. Besides, Tyrone was there and Tyrone's a human. He wouldn't actively use his powers in front of him unless it was Tyrone's mind he was messing with. Which in this case, it was not."
"Okay, but to be fair, Tyrone was way caught up with Khai." Aimee pauses. "He seemed so emotional, I felt really sorry for him." She says sympathetically.
"I know. Khai has like... changed him, in a good way. It only makes sense that they're so close." I say.

***Khai's POV***
Tyrone sighs as he walks closely beside me. It's almost like he thinks I'm gonna pass out at any moment again.
I kind of want to hold his hand right now to maybe assure him a little.
Well, to be honest, I do feel incredibly weak right now.
"I feel like all we ever do is sit out during PE." Tyrone says. "But it's never together. We never get to sit out together."
"I know. When I'm fine, you're not, and when you're fine, I'm not." I add.
"And then, just sometimes, we're both actively participating."
"And then I try to run faster than I can and end up falling." I laugh. "Imagine that I hurt myself that day?"
"You did. It just wasn't during PE." Tyrone recalls, his eyes holding that coldness again.
"Oh yeah... that was my first day and then they showed up. I''m glad they've been leaving us alone for now, though."
"Yeah. That was so cruel, I don't understand how they could just beat you up like that for no reason when you were just happily in your own world, minding your own business, not bothering anyone... ugh, I'm gonna get myself all riled up again. But I just don't get it, I don't get why they'd do that."
"As long as you care and they don't, it won't make sense to you. A bad person wouldn't care, by the way."
"Khai..."
