A/N: The majority of this chapter is from Killian's POV. Now he hasn't technically been introduced but if anyone remembers the chapter titled 'The Others Among Us', Aimee and Scarlette went out for breakfast together. While they were there, a vampire with tattoos and piercings walked in and kissed the employee who served them, Tucker (A Merman). Anyways, that vampire was Killian, and he'll be an important character in the upcoming chapters.

2 DAYS EARLIER

***Killian's POV***

"What's got you so gutted?" I ask, observing Zevon's sad state. 

Well, being an empath, it's more that I feel it.

"You know the guy I was talking about at school? The one I have a crush on?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, I found out he has a crush on someone else, which isn't so bad, you know? That doesn't necessarily mean anything. But then today, I learned the person he's crushing on is his best friend, and his best friend likes him back. It's a relationship waiting to happen. That means there's no chance for me anymore, not unless I take things into my own hands." Zevon complains.

I try to block out his emotions somewhat, not wanting to experience the frustration.

"Zevon... please don't meddle. Maybe it's not meant to be for you, not this time. Instead of ruining people's lives, why don't you just accept that maybe you'll find someone else? I know you can't turn off your feelings for someone, I get it. But that doesn't mean you can always get your way. I don't want to sound mean, it's just the truth." I try to explain, but Zevon remains adamant.

"People like you don't always get their way. If there's something I can do about it, I will. And there is. I need to make Khai stop liking Tyrone. I've spent enough time with them to know I can't stop Tyrone from liking Khai. But I've learned some things about Khai that might just work. He trusts Tyrone completely, but Tyrone is unstable and unpredictable and Tyrone might just say something to the whole school, something that Khai asked him not to tell anyone. He won't, of course. It'll be me, but Khai won't suspect a thing because Tyrone is the only person he told. I just have supernatural hearing and happened to pick it up."

"Zevon, that sounds crazy. If you actually loved Khai you wouldn't hurt him, you'd want him to be happy." I say, unimpressed with him.

I feel like half the time, he thinks he can do anything he wants because he's from a very long and powerful blood-line. 

A legacy vampire, if you will.

"There's no other way I can be with him. Think of it like I'm doing all of that just for him. I'd say it's impressive, the stuff I'd go through to be with him."

I sigh.

His logic is messed.

"But you're still hurting him... there's probably a good reason he asked Tyrone not to tell anyone, and once you spill that, you can't take it back. Besides, that's not the only thing that'll hurt him. If he really trusts Tyrone as much as you say he does, he'll be shattered. He'll feel so hurt by Tyrone."

"Exactly, he'll finally not want to be with Tyrone anymore. And then he'll be lost and confused and need comfort, and I swoop in and he'll realize I'm there for him, and just like that, he'll be mine."

"Oh my- Zevon you are actually so manipulative, you know that? You sound crazy." I let him know.

"The crazy ideas are the ones that work." Zevon winks at me, and I just roll my eyes.

"Isn't it just so much easier to find someone else to love?" I ask him.

"Maybe, but I'm not giving up on Khai that easy. He's special, you know? When we first met, I had no idea who the werewolf was. The reason for that? Khai accepted me with open arms despite us being natural enemies. And Tyrone was just cold and kinda rude. It was only his scent that made me realize he was a human." Zevon pauses. "Besides, Khai is exactly my type."
