"I'm not...? Cause... I mean, what does that mean? Why would that happen?"

"Finish the second part first." Hazel says, seeming both anxious and excited.

"Well... so that voice didn't belong to me, it was like it was someone else's. Anyways, whoever that person would hypothetically be... it was almost like... Mom, this sounds crazy, I should just stop."

"No honey, it's okay. I'm here for you no matter what and I can tell this bothers you. I can see you need to talk about it with someone."

"Well... to be honest, it was kind of like I swapped bodies with this person... well, not literally. But it was like we were connected for a few minutes, and during that time I couldn't see anything at school, where I actually was. Instead, I saw what this other person was seeing and it was like a forest and I was feeling all sorts of feelings that weren't my own, except for this weird, deep longing in my chest. Which is why I said it was like me and this other person were connected..."

I observe that Hazel's expression has become puzzled, and I can see that she is deep in thought, though still listening attentively all at the same time.

"I'm sorry, I know how weird it sounds. But it came out of nowhere and when it happened I knew that it was the same as the voice I heard days before. It's very strange and I'm so confused." I say, suddenly feeling very emotional. "I-I... there was a wolf in that forest and it jumped at me, like it was about to attack me. But then the vision stopped and everything went black and the next thing I knew is that I was in the nurse's office."

Hazle ruffles my hair and smiles at me.

"Khai, I don't always have answers and I hate to admit it at times. So I'm sorry I can't explain what's going on. I know you must be very curious and confused. I'll try to help you figure out what's going on but until then, know that it's okay and you have me if you need anything or if there's anything you want to talk about. You're going to be okay."

"But how is this normal? How do you think it's normal? You can't, are you just saying that to make me feel better?" I ask.

Why else would she seem so cool about it?

"I'm not just saying things. And again, I don't have answers but I know you, Khai. I know you're not crazy. Well, you are, but not in that way." Hazel smiles again, and I chuckle.

"It's just... well, I know this is bigger than just my vivid imagination. Otherwise I wouldn't have passed out."

"Unless you fell."

"Yeah but I know it was real..."

Hazel nods.

"Just take it easy, Khai. And let me know if anything else happens, no matter how crazy it is."

"Are there a lot of wolves around here?" I ask.

Hazel nods again.

"It's weird, I dream about wolves, I heard a wolf outside one time and then there was one in my vision... do you think it's connected?"

"It could be."

"I'm scared of wolves." I say sadly, pulling my blanket around me a little tighter.

"Are you? Why?"

"I don't know... they're just scary."

"I don't think you should be afraid. Wolves are often portrayed as scary but in reality they are beautiful, majestic creatures. They're only scary if you make them mad or threaten them."

"So if I was outside and lost in the woods and there was a wolf there it wouldn't attack me?"

"No. Wolves usually avoid humans. They're curious and they'll watch but only from a safe enough distance away. If you get too close, they'll run. But if they're cornered, they'll feel threatened and that will be different."
