***Tyrone's POV***
While Khai and I are in the middle of eating our breakfast, the front door is unlocked and his mom and dad walk in.
Khai glances up, but doesn't stop eating.
I quickly finish my mouthful before greeting them.
"Sorry I don't have enough breakfast for everyone. I wasn't sure when you guys would be home." I say.
"That's alright." Hazel says, smiling at us.
"There's a couple pancakes I think but Khai took all the bacon."
Hazel laughs softly.
"How was the party last night?" Rassler asks.
"It was fun." I start.
Khai quickly swallows his mouthful.
"I reunited with some kid I used to go to school with!" He exclaims excitedly.
"Oh, that's nice!" Hazel replies, seating herself at the table beside us.
She glances over at Khai's dad.
"You hungry, Rass?" She asks.
"Is that even a question?" Rassler chuckles and takes two plates, splitting the leftover pancakes between them. He hands one plate to Hazel and sits down beside her.
I just study them as they wolf down their food.
At least I know where Khai gets it from now.
🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘
After a peaceful, chill weekend at Khai's home, I head to my own house on Sunday night.
I'm curious about whether or not Ricca's home yet.
I don't see her upon entering, but I do find my dad asleep on the sofa, a beer in hand. When I get a little closer, I see that his cigarette is still burning.
While I'd much rather stay at Khai's, my dad being around again means neither my mom nor I can be absent for too long.
Otherwise, he'll think we're planning to leave him and I know too well that I cannot let that happen.
And clearly, Ricca's still staying with Killian's mom, so it's good that at least I'm home now. Even if just being in the house stresses me out and makes me anxious.
I sigh as I study my dad.
I don't want to wake him, so I try to move quietly as I extinguish the cigarette and gently take the beer from his hand to set it down on the table.
I study the pack of cigarettes laying around for a few seconds before glancing at my dad again, making sure he's still asleep.
When I find that he is, I grab a few cigarettes and stuff them in my pocket.
I don't smoke much or very often, but there's a lot going on lately.
Being with Khai subdues some of the stress, but I can't stay with him forever or be around him all the time.
These might come in handy later.
🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘
I wake up early the next morning, but I sit in my bed for a little while, just processing.
I think about everything I've dreamt about, wondering if it was somehow a reflection of the chaos and confusion going on in my life at the moment.
