"Do you think the Half-Blood Prince could have been a woman?" Hermione asked me one night. "Because Harry and Ron think it's nonsense."
"I don't know, it could be, why? Did you find something?"
"Yes, I found a record of someone called Eileen Prince. There aren't actual princes in the wizarding world, so why can't it be someone's surname?"
"That's pretty clever, actually," I said. "But do you really think a girl would have used that terrible spell Harry used on Draco?"
"I don't know, girls can be pretty horrible too. Look at Bellatrix, for example."
I nodded.
"Maybe you're right."

Some days later, Harry had gone to Dumbledore's office again, I heard from Ron, probably for finding one of the Horcuxes. He came back fast, though, when I was with Hermione, Ron and Neville in the common room. He ran up the stairs to his dormitory and came back with some stuff.
"Listen," Harry panted. "I haven't got much time. Dumbledore thinks I'm getting my Invisibility Cloak. Dumbledore is taking me to find a Horcrux in a cave, and it could be dangerous, but he made me promise to do exactly as he tells me. But since he won't be here tonight, Malfoy could have another go at whatever he's doing, and Snape could be involved." Hermione opened her mouth, but Harry did stop. "I met Trewlaney on the way, and she said she had been moved out of the Room of Requirement, by someone celebrating. Now, I know it was Malfoy. Here."
He gave Hermione the Marauder's Map.
"Watch Malfoy, and Snape too. Use anyone you can find from the DA, that includes you too." He pointed at me and Neville.
"Find Luna, or Ginny, anyone. Those contact Galleons still work, right? Because Dumbledore said he'd put extra protection on the school, but if Snape's involved, he'll know too."

"Are you sure?" I said, getting a bit scared now.
"Yes, I have no time to argue. Here, take this too."
He gave a pair of socks to Ron.
"Right," Ron said. "Er- why do I need socks?"
"You need what's inside them. The Felix Felicis. Use a bit, all of you, and give a bit to Ginny too. Say goodbye to her from me."
"Harry-" Hermione said. "You should take it! Who knows what you'll be facing?"
"I'll be with Dumbledore, I just need to know all of you are safe. See you later."
And Harry went. We all looked at each other in silence for a minute, and then flew into action.

All of us took a sip from the tiny bottle, and though we didn't become as light-headed as Harry, we did, all of us, feel better and more confident. Hermione rushed to our room to get her contact Galleons, but only Ginny and Luna seemed to answer. We met them outside the common room, and gave to them also the Felix Felicis.

"Okay, listen," Ron said, almost exitedly. He showed us the Marauders Map. "Malfoy is nowhere to be seen, so I'm guessing he's in the Room of Requirement. Snape's in his office. Hermione, Luna and Ginny, you go and check if Snape stays where he is. I'll go with Neville and Jynx to make sure Malfoy stays in the Room of Requirement."
We all nodded, none of us had a better plan anyway.

We parted ways, Ginny, Luna and Hermione to the dungeons, and the rest of us upstairs to an invisible door.
"I really hope nothing bad happens," Neville said, despite the liquid luck, pale with nervousness.
"Me too, Nev," I said, luckily still a bit sane. I did feel better about the situation, we were the DA, right? Even if Malfoy got out, we could definitely fight him.

We walked around at the wall for about an hour. Nothing happened, we heard nothing from the other three, and nothing from Harry.
"I guess this is luck, right?" Neville said. "Better he stays in there until Dumbledore and Harry come back."
"I don't believe in luck," I said, feeling the Felix Felicis wear a bit off. We really hadn't had much. "We make our own luck."
"But it really helped Harry when he had to go to Slughorn," Ron said.
"I don't think it's actually luck," I said with a huff. "It's probably just some kind of wizarding drug, it makes you feel better."
"What's a-"
