The chill air of the early night bit at Dahyun's skin as she walked up to Momo's front door, holding onto the strap of the bag slung over her shoulder. White puffs of air left her lips as she knocked on the door and waited. Soon, warmth and orange light hit her face as the door opened, a smile already playing on her lips.
"You're seven minutes late," Momo said teasingly.
"I told you I'd stop at the store," Dahyun argued as she curled her shoulders at a cold breeze passing by her. When Momo raised an eyebrow, she rolled her eyes. "Okay, I might have gotten a little distracted at the snack aisle."
Dahyun didn't wait for Momo to invite her inside, since she was taking way too long, and she stepped into the warm house. A pleasant hum left her lips.
Maybe they were a little too old for a sleepover, but it was a Friday night without a schedule, plus Momo had the apartment to herself. Unhealthy snacks, movies, games, and the special friendship they had; it was just too tempting.
"Well, at least you're here now." Momo locked the door and walked around Dahyun to stop in front of her. "I was just looking for some movies that we might enjoy."
Momo took the bag filled with snacks and drinks from Dahyun and they walked to the kitchen. They plated everything and started getting cozy on the couch. Momo was undeniably adorable as she ran Dahyun through her movie choices on the TV in a passionate way. Half of what she was saying was tuned out for Dahyun when all she could focus on was Momo herself. Soon, Momo caught Dahyun looking at her instead of the screen, making her trip over her own words.
At the end of their second movie, the snacks were gone and they were starting to get bored. The lights in the apartment were all off, with only the bright TV screen and a few candles providing light. They lay slumped on the couch next to each other. Dahyun's head was resting on Momo's shoulder and Momo's cheek was pressed against her head.
They never really acknowledged the difference between their friendship and the ones they had with the other girls. Neither of them felt the need to cuddle up on the couch with anyone else. Quite the opposite, the thought of being so close with Nayeon, for example, made Momo cringe. They simply didn't have that kind of relationship with the others, which was completely fine. Though, they never brought this topic up.
Dahyun brought her gaze away from the screen and up to Momo. "Can I do your makeup?"
Momo turned her head upon hearing Dahyun's quiet question, the way their noses were almost touching made her heart do flips. "Suddenly?"
Sitting up straighter, Dahyun bit her lip in a grin. "Come on, it'll be fun."
After some insistence and murmurs from Dahyun, Momo relented. A smile caught her lips when Dahyun got up and ran up to her room with the sweetest of faces. She patiently waited on the couch.
Soon, Dahyun stepped back into the living room with a small black bag in her hands. Momo watched her sit beside her, a few strands of hair falling over her eyes as she looked through the bag. The TV screen cast a glow on Dahyun's face, making her excited eyes shine a pretty glow.
Momo started fiddling with the blanket to stop herself from reaching out and caressing that face. She was down bad and fully aware. She knew it from the moment they started performing as TWICE years ago. She fell for Dahyun again and again whenever they would eat dinner together, or whenever Dahyun would quietly link their arms while walking. Momo fell for her, knowing that all they would ever be was friends, but she still loved her willingly.
Then, however, as she was lying down on the couch with Dahyun comfortably straddling her waist, she was once again made aware of her feelings.
Dahyun opened a pink lipstick and brought it to Momo's lips. Her free hand hovered over Momo's thighs, not sure whether she would be making the scene awkward by being too touchy. Their current position was not a normal one, after all. Momo made sure not to laugh or move her lips as Dahyun applied the glossy lipstick.
