"do you always hide behind your camera, or is it just around me?"
"i don't hide. i just don't waste my time on people who think they're better than everyone else."

YESEUL SAT in the photography studio, surrounded by the dim red glow of the darkroom. Her fingers drummed relentlessly against the edge of her camera as she stared at the empty wall in front of her, trying to envision the perfect shot for the upcoming exhibition. The theme this year was "Contrast", and so far, all she had was a series of half-baked ideas that lacked the impact she wanted.
Just then, the door creaked open, and she didn't need to look up to know who had just walked in. The shift in the room's atmosphere was enough.
Heeseung.
He sauntered in, his camera slung over his shoulder with the ease of someone who knew exactly what he was doing. Yeseul stole a glance at him, and, as expected, he caught her gaze almost immediately. It was the kind of smirk that made her blood simmer- not because she was intimidated, but because she knew he was always two steps ahead.
"Heard you're still stuck on your concept," Heeseung said, his voice calm yet laced with something that made her grip her camera tighter.
Yeseul's eyes narrowed, "And I heard you're as insufferable as ever," she shot back, not missing a beat.
Heeseung chuckled softly, moving to set up his camera at the workstation across from hers. The other students in the room exchanged glanced, clearly intrigued by the exchange. Yeseul could feel their eyes on them, the weight of their unspoken curiosity adding to the tension.
"Careful," he said, his voice dropping to a low murmur as she adjusted his lens. "You might just end up inspiring me."
"I doubt that," Yeseul replied, forcing herself to focus on her own project. But the truth was, she could feel her irritation bubbling under the surface, threatning to distract her from her work.
Around them, the low murmur of conversations continued, and this time, she caught snippets that pulled her attention away from Heeseung.
"Did you hear about the secret party?"
"Yeah, I heard it's going to be wild. They say only the coolest of freshmen will get the invite."
"Imagine if Heeseung shows up..."
"He's practically guaranteed to be there."
Yeseul rolled her her eyes at the mention of Heeseung, but curiosity itched at her mind. The Freshers' Party was a tradition, but a secret party? It was hard to ignore the lure of something off-the-books, especially with the potential chaos it promised.
"Thinking about crashing the party?" Heeseung's voice cut through her thoughts. He was now watching her, a teasing glint in his eyes.
"Not interested," she replied tersely, though the thought had crossed her mind. "I have more important things to focus on."
Heeseung hummed noncommitially. "Just don't let your 'focus' turn into another failed project. I'd hate to see you stumble before the finish line."
