THE DOORBELL did not chime.

That was the first thing Yeseul noticed when she and Heeseung stepped inside the old shop. The air inside was heavy, thick with the scent of dust and something faintly floral- a lingering ghost of time itself.

Yeseul's grip on her camera tightened.

The old man was already waiting for them.

His hands rested on the counter, his expression unreadable beneath the dim overhead light and for the first time, she noticed how dull it felt.

"You finally came," he said.

Yeseul swallowed. "We have questions."

The old man nodded, as if he had been expecting this. He turned away, walking toward the back of the shop.

"Come," he murmured.

Heeseung hesitated for only a moment before following as he halted in his steps when he noticed the young feminine's hesitation.

With a sigh, he interlocked his fingers with hers, "Please, Yeseul?"

She gave him a faint nod, as he pulled her with him.

A part of her didn't yearn to know the truth.

They entered a room lined with old photographs.

Each one was black and white, their edges curled with age.

Yeseul's breath caught as her gaze landed on one in particular-

A photograph of the tree.

And beneath it-

A couple.

The image was slightly blurred, but Yeseul could make out the traces of their faces.

A young woman, laughing. A boy beside her, watching her with a quiet fondness.

Y & H carved into the tree behind them.

The park.....

All along, it wasn't their high school- but the park.

Yeseul's stomach twisted.

"That's-''

Her voice broke.

"That's us."
