"do you always hide behind your camera, or is it just around me?"
"i don't hide. i just don't waste my time on people who think they're better than everyone else."

THE SCENT of fresh paint and old wood fills the air as Yeseul walks into the exhibition hall.
The space has been transformed. Tall white walls now hold framed pieces, each spotlighted with careful precision. The floor in lined with sleek pathways, guiding visitors through a curated journey of light and shadow, of contrast and emotion.
In a few days, this place will be full.
Students. Professors. Outsiders.
Their work- their vision- will be on display for everyone.
But as Yeseul stands among the chaos of last minute of last-minute preparations, her mind is elsewhere.
She barely hears the conversations around her. She barely notices the way Heeseung is adjusting one of his prints across the room, his focused gaze scanning the angle, the lightning, the alignment.
Her fingers tighten around the camera.
Her heart is pounding.
Because she has something to show him.
And she doesn't know what it means.
Not yet.
Just last night, Yeseul had been sorting through her old shots, preparing for final selections for the exhibition.
Most of them were expected- urban landscapes, blurred streetlights, candid portraits of strangers in motion. She had gone through them mindlessly, clicking through the files, deciding which ones to print.
Then-
She froze.
A photograph she had never never seen before.
But it was there.
It was saved in her gallery like it had always been there. Like someone had taken it.
A couple standing beneath the tree.
Their figures blurred, almost distorted by time.
And carved into the bark, faint but unmistakable.
Y & H
They carving they had found before. The same one she had traced with her fingertips in quiet curiosity.
