THE WIND carried the scent of autumn- crisp, fleeting and irreversible.

Sunghoon stood at the edge of the rooftop, hands resting against the cool metal railing. The city stretched below him in flickering lights, restless cars, and people who had no idea how suffocating this night felt.

His breath came slow. Controlled. But his heart wasn't.

He knew Yeseul was behind him as she spoke.

"...Sunghoon?"

The way she said his name- hesitant, fragile- made his chest tighten.

He turned.

She stood there, arms crossed, as if bracing herself.

For what, he wasn't sure.

Maybe she already knew.

Maybe they had both known for a long time.

His fingers curled, his resolve solidfying.

"This is the last time, isn't it?" he asked.

Yeseul's brows furrowed.

"What do you mean?" she whispered.

Sunghoon exhaled through his nose, watching her carefully.

She was always careful with him.

Careful with her words.

Careful not to hurt him.

But that was the thing- he didn't want her to be too careful.

He wanted her to be honest.

He pulled something from his pocket- a simple polaroid picture.

Yeseul blinked as he held it out.

She hesitated before taking it, het fingers brushing his for a fleeting moment.

It was an old picture.

A photo of the two of them- Yeseul and Sunghoon. Her first polaroid with him....

Yeseul's breath hitched. Why was he giving this back to her?

"I wanted to win," Sunghoon admitted.
