"do you always hide behind your camera, or is it just around me?"
"i don't hide. i just don't waste my time on people who think they're better than everyone else."

AS THE game moved on without them, Heeseung leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed, observing the scene. He could play it cool- he always did. But in the back of his mind, a thousand thoughts were buzzing. His eyes narrowed slightly as he had watched Sunghoon speak up for Yeseul.
That was new. His brother, the ever calm one, never usually got involved like that.
Heeseung wasn't the type to let such stuff get under his skin, but this....this was different. He wasn't anxious- he was confident, almost to a fault- but he couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted. He had always seen Yeseul as his rival, a challenge in the classroom that had pushed him to be better. But now, seeing her with his brother, hearing that tone in Sunghoon's voice- it made him feel something unfamiliar.
The night before, he had brushed it off. He and Sunghoon had talked about her briefly, and his younger brother had used a tone he had never used before- firm, protective. Heeseung had chalked it up to nothing, but now it was clear that something was happening.
He took a sip from his glass, his face unreadable. He could play this cool. After all, he always got what he wanted. But in the back of his mind, the rivalry between him and Yeseul felt more detached than ever.

After lounging in the balcony for a few mins more, Sunghoon didn't return back. She should've known it sooner. Jay being the womanizer that he was, probably took along Sunghoon to introduce him to some pretty girls.
She let out a scoff, why was she even so bothered about it? She was way over him.
She quickly leaves, descending the stairs and blending into the chaotic crowd below. She's trying to search for Chaerin, but there's no sign of her anywhere. The partygoers around her are getting wilder, and she's starting to feel lost amid the flashing lights and thumping bass.
That's when she bumps into someone.
At first, it's just an accidental nudge, but when she looks up, her stomach churns. The guy, whom she vaguely recognizes from campus, is standing too close for her own comfort, his gaze lingering in a way that makes her skin crawl with a sickly feeling. His smile is off- too sweet like expired cake, too suggestive. He leans in, whispering something into her ear that makes her inmediately pull back.
"I, uh, I need to go," Yeseul says, trying to move past him, but he blocks her path. His hand brushes her arm, a touch that feels too distasteful for someone she barely knows.
"C'mon, a pretty girl like you shouldn't be alone," he murmurs, voice laced with false charm. He steps closer, making her heart race- not with excitement but with dread. She tries to step back, but the crowd behind her is too dense.
