"do you always hide behind your camera, or is it just around me?"
"i don't hide. i just don't waste my time on people who think they're better than everyone else."

THE DAY had been nothing short of chaotic. Heeseung barely made it to his classes without being bombarded by classmates whispering, staring, or asking outright about the photo. Everywhere he turned, people murmured, their eyes filled with curiosity.
As he walked down the corridor, his phone buzzed in his pocket for what felt like the hundredth time today. He sighed, glancing down at the latest message notification from someone in his department: "Hey, Heeseung, you doing okay? Crazy about that pic, huh?"
Clenching his jaw, he shoved his phone back into his pocket, choosing not to reply. Like I need the reminder. Just when he thought he could catch a break, he heard a girl whisper as he walked past. "Is it true? Him and Yeseul?...." Her friend shushed her, but her eyes lingered on hin as he passed, judging, prying.
Desperate to escape, he made his way to the library, hoping it'd be empty enough for some peace. He'd never bothered coming here much, especially alone, but today it felt like his last safe haven.
Once inside, he took a seat in a corner hidden behind rows of bookshelves. He could finally breathe. The silence felt heavy yet comforting, free from the constant buzz of curious onlookers.
As he absentmindedly traced his fingers along the table, his mind drifted to Yeseul and Sunghoon. He had been texting both of them all day, but neither had responded. Sunghoon had been distant, avoiding him since that morning. It was all so strange- like something was happening, and he was the only one left out of the loop.
"Why are they both...ignoring me?" he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair in frustration. Is there something I don't know?
A soft, almost inaudible rustling sound caught his attenrion. He looked up, thinking it was just someone nearby, but he was alone. The strange part? There were faint symbols carved into the wood of the table, markings he'd never noticed in the library or campus before.
He frowned, running his fingers over the carvings. They looked almost familiar but distant, like he'd seen them in a half-remembered dream. One symbol in particular- a spiraled figure- made something in his chest tighten.
"Is this....from high school?" he whispered to himself. His memories of senior year flickered, but something about them felt.....off. Details blurred and shifted, like pieces of a puzzle that no longer fit together. The more he focused, the harder it became to remember if these symbols actually existed in his past, or if his mind was playing tricks on him.
"Hey, Heeseung," a voice interrupted, breaking his concentration. He looked up to see a familiar face, someone from his department. She glanced at tge carvings on the table, eyebrows raised. "Everything okay? You've been kind of....out of it today."
