THE MOMENT Yeseul spotted him, she forgot how to breathe.

The crowd's chatter vanished. The world shrank down to him.

Heeseung stood just beyond the glass doors, a ghost draped in the warm glow of the lights casted above, hands buried in his coat pocket.

His eyes met hers.

And he smiled.

A soft, familiar smile. The kind that made her want to believe.

The air left her lungs.

A hand touched her shoulder. Someone- Chaerin- murmured something, but it sounded like white noise.

Then-

She ran.

Gasps. Murmurs.

"Wait- where is she going?"

"Yeseul? Yeseul!"

The voices blurred as she burst into the cold air, chasing after the impossible.

She was terrified to blink.

Terrified that if she did, he would be gone.

But he was still there.

Waiting.

Like he had never left.

Like he had never been ripped away from her.

"You're here," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.

Heeseung tilted his head slightly. His expression unreadable.

"I'll be there," he said.

For a moment, hope flooded her chest.

Until-

"...For now."

Her stomach plummeted.

She swallowed, shaking her head.

"No," she whispered.

And then-

He chuckled.

"Do you want to go on a date with me?"
