"do you always hide behind your camera, or is it just around me?"
"i don't hide. i just don't waste my time on people who think they're better than everyone else."

THE WIND had settled. The night remained still. But inside, Yeseul's chest, a storm was raging.
Her lips still burned from the desperate press of his. Her hands were trembling- whether from cold or from the weight of everything, she didn't know. All she knew was that Heeseung had kissed her. And she had kissed him back.
Her breath was uneven as she stepped back, but Heeseung didn't stop her. His expression was unreadable, but the vulnerability in his eyes lingered like an echo. Like he had been waiting for this moment for longer than he was willing to admit.
She opened her mouth to say something, but no words came.
Because what could she even say?
That she was afraid? That none of this made sense? That she didn't even know if he was real anymore? If this was real anymore?
Heeseung exhaled, his gaze flickering toward the carving on the tree before meeting hers again. "You feel it too, don't you?"
Her fingers curled into fists. "I don't know what you're talking about."
His lips twitched- not in amusement, but something close to it. "Liar."
She wanted to deny it. She wanted to tell him he was wrong, that this wasn't happening, that she wasn't coming undone at the seams because of something or someone who wasn't supposed to exist.
But then, from her pocket, a sharp ping broke the silence.
A notification.
Yeseul's hand reached for her phone, her pulse quickening. The screen was dimly lit, a single message standing out against the darkness.
@syl_1009: Don't forget to look up.
Her blood ran cold.
Heeseung noticed her reaction, his brows furrowing. "What is it?"
She didn't answer. She couldn't. Because she didn't understand.
She had gotten messages from this account before, cryptic ones that felt too aware of her life. But this one- felt too different.
A shiver ran down her spine as she hesitantly tilted her chin upward.
And that's when she saw it.
The sky, once a deep indigo, was shifting. The clouds twisted, blurred- like a photo in motion, stuck between frames. The moon pulsed faintly, flickering between full and crescent, like it couldn't decide what time it belonged to.
