THE BOTTLE of soju is almost empty now, third bottle, to elaborate. Yeseul has clearly reached her limit as she rests her hand on her folded arms, her cheeks flushed from the alcohol. Chaerin, on the other hand, is still upright, slightly buzzed but nowhere as drunk as Yeseul.

"Wow, lightweight. You're already done for the night, huh?" Chaerin teasingly shakes her head.

Yeseul lets out a groan, lifting her head slightly to look at the latter with her half-lidded eyes. "I'm fine...I'm just resting my eyes for a bit." She slurs a little.

"Sure, sure. You always say that right before you pass out-"

A laugh elicits from their throats, and for a moment, there's a comfortable silence between them. Chaerin watches her fondly, then takes a sip from her cup, lost in her own thoughts.

"Hey, Chaerin...you're always there for me, right? Like, always listening to me rant and complain about everything," Yeseul groggily says but curiosity weaved into her tone.

She let out a soft smile in response, "Of course, you're my best friend. That's what I'm here for."

Yeseul let out a slight tone, one thing she would've never done had she been sober, "But...what about you? You never talk about your stuff. Like, your feelings or anything."

She freezes for a moment, then looks away, a small, almost nervous smile playing on her lips, "Ah, I dunno. There's not much to say about my life." She shrugs.

"Come on...you're always listening to my drama. Spill it, Chaerin. Do you like someone? Or are you secretly seeing someone? Tell me!" One drawback of Yeseul being drunk was that she was persistent as hell in her drunken state.

Chaerin laughs, shaking her head, but there's a hint of something in her expression- something she's been holding back. She taps the table with her fingers, thinking about how much she should share. "Why do you sound like a detective or something?" She teasingly remarks.

The other feminine lets out a giggle, drunk giggle, "I am! Detective Yeseul is on the case."

Chaerin rolls her eyes but then sighs softly, giving in a little to the moment. "Well...there might be someone. But it's complicated, you know?" She half-admits quietly making sure no one else heard her.

Yeseul's eyes widen slightly, and she leans forward, suddenly more interested despite her groggy state. "Oooooh, who is it? I need all the details, is he cute?"

The latter chuckles, but there's a slight hesitation. She glances away again, her expression more serious now. "It's not really that simple. I mean...he's a bit older, and well...let's just say we're not exactly in the same social circles."

Yeseul frowns, her alcohol-clouded mind trying to piece things together. "Older? Not the same social circles? Who....who could that be?"

Chaerin doesn't say anything for a moment, and then she reaches for the alcohol as she pours herself another cup. "It's nothing serious. Just someone I....find interesting, that's all." She downs the drink in one gulp.

"Noo, don't do that. Now I'm even more curious!" The latter lets out a whine in protest.

"Let's just say I'm keeping my options open for now. Besides, you've got enough on your plate with your photoshoot and the Freshers' Party."

At the mention of the party, Yeseul groans dramatically, covering her face with her hands. "Don't remind me. I still can't believe I agreed to go. Why did I say yes to Sunghoon?"

Chaerin's eyes sparkle with amusement at the mention of Sunghoon. "Probably because he's your former crush. You couldn't say no to that face, right?"

"That was years ago....I don't even feel that way anymore," she lets out a groan of protest.

Chaerin smirks but doesn't push further, knowing her friend's feelings are more complicated than she wants to admit. "Whatever you say. But I'll be there too, so don't worry. We'll survive it together. Besides, I need to make sure you don't pass out from another drink," she says with a playful smile curved to her lips.

Yeseul smiles at the latter's reassuring words, feeling slightly better. She looks up at the night sky, her thoughts still swirling from the alcohol.

"Thanks, Chaerin. For everything."

"Anytime."
