tthe ending was kinda rushed so it might be confusing for some readers, i'll explain.
heeseung wasn't supposed to exist. in every other past, he died or just ceased to exist. if you remember, he got flashbacks a couple of times. those flashbacks were remnants of his past with yeseul.
he got to be aware of their past before her, hence why his behaviour might seem out of box starting from chapter 41. he knew he had limited time, but he didn't fully believe it until chapter 47 which integrates the 'right person, wrong time' trope. and that's when he knew his time was up.
the camera had both a way to erase the past, and show the past. yeseul didn't want to click his picture when he asked because she knew he would disappear and the past would repeat. he had to let her or else, she'd be the one at the receiving end.
towards the end, we see yeseul in front of the farewell photo that she wasn't aware of. heeseung had left this as a memory for her so she'd figure out that maybe- he never really hated her as much as he always used to show.
she takes out the weird camera that she had never really left because the shop had disappeared and it had no place to be returned back to. the reason she takes a picture of the farewell photo was because she'd rather have their meeting cease to exist than to let him disappear again. if she took a picture, their past wouldn't exist. and neither of them would meet again only to be a memory.
so, in this way, the farewell photo which was a candid click would only be stored in that camera. she walks away at the end, and it's a quiet farewell to their past and meeting which wouldn't exist nor happen again.
