Rhythm's POV:

"I hope I can be the reason of your smiles," L

Read the note stuck on top of the box. I glanced around. I've been obsessed with these cookies for three years now. It’s been two years since I gave up trying to find out who’s been putting them in my locker. I’m not even worried about being poisoned anymore since I’m still alive. Besides, we have monthly check-ups. I opened the box and took one out. They’re really delicious. I’ve tasted many cookies, but nothing compares to these. Even our chef can’t replicate the taste.

“Fuck!” I closed my eyes, savoring the flavor. I stood in front of my locker for a while, just munching on two cookies. After finishing them, I put the rest in my bag. As I left the locker room, I saw my classmate Ada. He looked shocked to see me. I don’t know what’s up with this guy—he’s always blushing, and when I touched his hand, it was cold. Yet he doesn’t seem sick.

“G-good morning, Rhythm,” He greeted. Just like on any normal day, I nodded in response. He’s one of my mom’s scholars. Well, no doubt, he’s really smart. Even I can attest to that. He’s our class president and a student assistant in the registrar’s office.

He looked at the box I was holding, as well as the cookie in my mouth. Well, I was biting into it, so I quickly chewed and swallowed it. He grinned.

"Don't worry. I won't ask for any, and I won't take it from you either," he said. He left first, leaving me feeling stupid because of what he said.

I looked at myself in the large mirror on the wall. What the heck! I looked like an idiot hugging the box of cookies like it was something almighty that I had to protect from enemies. I opened my bag and hid the box. Not the letter, though, because I have a separate compartment for it in my wallet.

Ada's POV:

I woke up late because I stayed up chatting with my sister. Well, I always update her on everything that happens at my school, even about our lunch with Mr. Icy.

I quickly went to the locker room to hang the box of cookies. I kissed it, and when I heard footsteps, I immediately ran away. From the nearby comfort room, I peeked out to check on Mr. Icy. My cookies are better off because they make him smile so much. I wish the person who made them would get the same reaction.

I saw how his eyes sparkled while looking at my cookies. He even closed his eyes and leaned against the locker while eating. He smiled even more when he read my quotes. I was about to look behind me when someone came out of a cubicle, so I had no choice but to come out. I greeted him, but as usual, he ignored me. I grinned when he reacted, hugging the box as if protecting it. I left him and headed to the room first. I was surprised to find the entire class A silent. Mr. Icy wasn't there yet, so it was unusual for it to be this quiet. I was even more surprised to see Sir Ceidence sitting in my seat.

"Good morning, Ada!" he greeted cheerfully.

"G-Good morning, sir..." I replied shyly. I looked around. They weren't looking at us, pretending to be busy with something else. But I knew they were listening.

"Oh, enough with the 'sir.' Just call me Ceidence. Or brother, perhaps?" He laughed. I was left speechless because he looked so handsome. Hihihi. I nodded.

"What's going on? Is there a problem?" I asked.

"Have you given the box yet?" he asked with a mischievous smile. My eyes widened. He knew?

"H-huh?" Wait. No. This can't be!

"Kidding. I mean, here. Your breakfast." He took my hand and placed a paper bag in it.
