Ada's POV:
I can't believe I've reached this point. There was a time when I only wished for Rhythm to notice me, even imagining what it would be like if he became my boyfriend. And now, it's actually come true. Even now, I still can't believe that the person I like is sleeping beside me.
It's been a year since we officially became a couple. After the graduation ball, I said yes to being his boyfriend, even though I hesitated because of a misunderstanding regarding my diary, where I had written a list on how he fell in love with me. And since then, we've been together almost every day. Maybe the only time we're apart is when we sleep. I thought that was it, but apparently, he never stopped courting me. I thought we were already official, but...
Flashback...
"I'm sorry for leaving you with no choice that night. I know you're still not okay with what I did. Even though we're always together, I can tell you're still not completely okay with everything," Rhythm said while we were in his garden. It was nighttime, and I wanted to swim in his pool since it was summer. He agreed to let me. His family was inside the house with my family, leaving just the two of us by the pool.
I hugged him, wrapping my legs around his waist, and rested my face against his neck. In this position, I felt something below, but I decided to ignore it. I lifted my head at his words.
"What do you mean?" I asked him. He had this habit of kissing my forehead and cheeks.
"Even now, I feel guilty about what I did. I should have told you about your notebook. I should have told you that I knew who was giving you the cookies and about your list. And even now, I'm sorry. Please, let me love you and take care of you, even if you don't want me. Even if you want to hurt me, I'm willing to be your victim. That's how much I love you."
I was touched by what he said. Normally, Rhythm was intimidating, but when it came to me, he always showed his soft side. And now, after Ceidence made us try his experimental tequila mix, that soft side was coming out even more. I smiled.
"What are you saying? Do you not believe that I said yes to you that night? Am I not convincing? After everything I do? Haven't I convinced you by saying 'I love you' every day?" What the heck? Why am I crying?
"Oh my... I'm sorry, love. That's not what I meant. Stop crying, I'm sorry, love. Please forgive me," he said, and I hugged him tightly.
After our emotional conversation by the pool, we both changed, and Rhythm asked my parents for permission for me to stay the night at his mansion. Of course, my parents agreed immediately. My sister secretly smacked my butt and slipped a small wallet into the pocket of my pajamas. I was about to take it out, but she signaled me not to.
"If you two end up in battle, who knows? You're fragile. You need a shield," she whispered, laughing.
Ceidence pinched my cheeks while laughing too, as if he knew what my sister had just said.
"Don't worry, I gave Ceidence an amulet too. Who knows? There might be bad spirits in their room later. My brother may be quiet, but he's wild too... Hahaha!" They both laughed loudly.
