Ada's POV:
Rhythm guiding me down the hall. I followed him closely, trying not to look too much at the magnificent surroundings. The place was so much more than I imagined—every piece of furniture seemed carefully chosen, and the whole atmosphere exuded wealth and elegance.
We passed through the large living room, where the delicious aroma of food wafted from the kitchen. My stomach grumbled at the smell, but we had to focus on the project. As we reached the study, Rhythm opened the door for me, and as I stepped inside, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. "Okay, let's get to work. We have a lot to cover," Rhythm said with a small smile, placing his bag on the desk.
I nodded, still in awe of the whole situation, and settled in, ready to dive into the project. But I couldn't help but feel a little more at ease, knowing I was spending time with him in this beautiful house, doing something we both cared about.
Eager to focus on the task at hand, but I couldn't help but glance around the room, still in awe of how beautiful everything was.
The walls were lined with bookshelves, filled with volumes I could only dream of reading. The desk was sleek, modern, and organized, with a few framed family photos scattered around. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about what it would be like to live in a place like this.
I look at him. Our status is so far apart from each other. My family and I owe them big time. And even just a simple acknowledgment from him makes me happy. I can say that we're not meant for each other. I don't know either if he's like his parents or if he's straight. But for now, like Sunoo said, I have a few months left to confess to him, and I need to prepare for it. I know he will reject me. We're so different. And this is my chance because next year, he's going to study in the States, together with his cousin.
Rhythm caught me staring at me. "You okay?" he asked, his voice softer now.
I quickly turned my attention back to the papers in front of me, my face flushing. "Yeah, just... this place is amazing," I muttered, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Thanks, that you like it." he said, leaning back in his chair.
The simple way he said it made me feel even more at ease. Then the room fell into a comfortable silence again, just the soft hum of our laptops filling the air. Rhythm and I worked side by side, occasionally exchanging glances or brief words about the project, but for the most part, we were focused. Even with the tension in the air, something about being here with him made the work feel a little less like a chore.
I glanced at the clock. It was getting late. I wasn't sure when it happened, but I realized we had been working for hours, and time seemed to slip by unnoticed.
"Hey," Rhythm said, breaking the silence. "You okay with staying a bit longer? We're almost done, and I don't want to rush it."
I smiled, feeling the warmth of his concern. "Yeah, I'm good," I said, my heart racing a little at his words. "Let's finish it."
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. "Hey, sons! Dinner's ready. Come downstairs!" came the voice from downstairs, unmistakably Sir Gulf's.
Rhythm closed his laptop with a soft click, the focus in his eyes shifting from the screen to me. "Guess it's time for a break," he said with a small smile, his voice warm. I can't count how many smiles he has given me. Please heart! Hold on tight. Its too much to handle!
