Ada couldn’t believe what had just happened. In a snap, he and Rhythm were now boyfriends. He was still trying to process everything when Ceidence and Treyton approached them.
“Congrats, lovebirds! I’m so proud of you, my baby Rhy-rhy!” Ceidence exclaimed, clearly tipsy as he leaned over and kissed Rhythm’s cheek. He laughed loudly at Rhythm’s annoyed reaction.
Ceidence plopped down beside Ada, grinning widely. “Welcome to the family, Lai! I knew it. The rumors I started worked perfectly. Look at my brother—he finally confessed how much he loves you,” he whispered, making sure only Ada could hear him.
Ada was speechless, unable to form a single word. Ceidence chuckled, amused by Ada’s state of shock. He draped an arm over Ada’s shoulder, pulling him closer.
“Believe it now Lai. My Ice Prince brother is finally yours. Your long-time crush is now officially yours. And don’t worry, if anyone dares mess with you two, they’ll have to deal with me—and trust me, messing with you is messing with our family. So relax, okay? Just focus on your new journey together and, most importantly, focus on loving each other.” He punctuated his words by pinching Ada’s cheek. “You’re so cute, you know that?”
“T-thank you, Ceidence. For everything,” Ada finally managed to say, his voice barely a whisper.
Ceidence smiled warmly, giving Ada a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “You deserve this, Lai. Take care of each other, okay?”
Treyton approached Rhythm with a sly grin on his face, his arms crossed as he leaned casually against the table. “So, Mr. Ice Prince, you finally melted, huh?” he teased, his tone light but filled with genuine amusement.
Rhythm rolled his eyes, though a faint smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. “Shut up, Trey.”
Treyton chuckled, shaking his head. “No, seriously. I didn’t think you had it in you to confess. I’ve known you to be reserved, all about walls and distance. But look at you now—boyfriend material.” He patted Rhythm’s shoulder playfully.
“Cut it out,” Rhythm muttered, though his cheeks turned a slight shade of pink.
Treyton leaned closer, lowering his voice so only Rhythm could hear. “But hey, all jokes aside, I’m happy for you. Ada’s a good one. Don’t mess this up, okay? You hurt him, He will be lost to you forever. But in a relationship, that's inevitable. But as much as you can get through good conversations, do it. Communication is the key." Rhythm met Treyton’s gaze, his expression serious. “I won’t mess this up. I’ve never been more certain about anything in my life.”
Treyton smiled, satisfied with Rhythm’s response. “Good. Then show him every day how much he means to you. Trust me, love like this doesn’t come around often.”
Rhythm nodded, a rare softness in his eyes. “I know. And I will.” Rhythm crossed his arms, glaring daggers at Treyton. “Stay away from my brother,” he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Treyton, instead of being offended, burst into laughter. “Rhythm, you know I can’t do that. Your brother is the only one I have. And, for your information, Ceidence agrees with me on this.” His eyes twinkled with mischief as he added, “So maybe you should focus on your partner instead and just be a good boyfriend. Your brother’s a grown man. Be happy for him.”
“No,” Rhythm snapped, his voice cold. “I know you’ll only hurt him. He doesn’t deserve that. He doesn’t deserve you. I’ll kill anyone who makes him cry.” He leaned in closer, his gaze narrowing. “No, scratch that. I’ll kill you if I ever find out you made him cry.”
