Ada's POV:

The past week felt surreal. I was never this clingy before — not even back when Rhythm and I were at our best. But now? I couldn't seem to get enough of him.

Everywhere he went, I was there. If he was in the living room, I'd follow him and curl on the couch next to him. If he went to the kitchen, I'd sit on the counter, watching him make coffee. Sometimes I just liked sitting on his lap while he worked on his laptop. I knew I must have been annoying — but Rhythm never complained.

In fact, he looked like he was secretly enjoying it.

And I noticed, too. Every time I leaned on him, every time I played with his hand or pressed my head on his shoulder, he'd smile softly, or kiss the top of my hair. He'd even whisper, "Stay there," as if daring me to move away.

Then he started insisting on staying at the penthouse with me and Aiden.

"You live here now?" I asked him one night while we were having late dinner in the kitchen, just the two of us.

Rhythm smirked and nodded. "Yes. If you'll allow me."

I rolled my eyes but nodded back. "Fine. You always get your way anyway."

He leaned back on his chair and grinned. "Good. Then I'm taking over all your pending work for now."

I nearly choked on my water. "What? No. I can—"

"No, Ada." His tone softened but was firm. "You're not well. You've been dizzy all week. I don't want you driving or traveling until you're steady again."

I had no energy to argue. So, I only muttered, "Fine," and went back to eating.

For the whole week, we stayed in the mansion. I did nothing but eat, sleep, and watch Aiden play with Rhythm. And honestly... I liked it. I liked seeing them together. I liked how Rhythm would drop everything just to sit beside me if I looked even a little tired. I liked that he cooked for me, that he didn't let me lift a finger.

I loved how he was taking care of me. I never said it out loud — but I loved it.

By the next week, my dizziness was gone. I finally felt normal again, ready to go back to work. Rhythm, of course, was still hovering like a bodyguard.

The day of our meeting with our foreign investors came, and everything was going smoothly — until he started flirting.

The client.

I frowned as I listened to him sweet-talk me in front of the team, saying things that made my skin crawl. This was a big-time client from New York, so I had to stay professional. I kept my face calm, but I could feel Rhythm's stare on me from across the table.
