Ada's POV:

I didn’t know that our houses were just a few blocks apart. Maybe I saved the whole country in my past life? That’s probably why I’m having such good luck. Imagine, my crush walked me home. I never thought he would treat me this way. He’s known me for four years, but we only started interacting now. I grabbed my phone and saw that the whole campus was trending with our picture from yesterday, where he was carrying me to the clinic. And today, there’s another one where he has his arm around my waist while we walk down the corridor. It's also spreading that we’re engaged, and I can’t help but feel giddy. I don’t know what Ceidence was thinking when he spread this rumor. I’m just worried about how his sibling will react.

This isn’t the first time there have been rumors about Rhythm and the other students who like him. I know how he embarrassed those people in front of the whole school, which is why I’ve been too scared to confess my feelings. Now, with the news spreading, I’m surprised that it seems like he doesn’t mind.

"#cutecouple #RhythmAda #RhyDa." I looked up and saw my mom looking at my phone. I quickly hid it in my pocket. I was currently on the terrace, enjoying the breeze.

"Do you have a crush on Rhythm?" Mom teased with a smile.

"As if your daughter hasn’t already told you." I said. She sat beside me, and I hugged her.

"Well, you’re not wrong, dear." She hugged me back.

"He likes you too. I can feel it." I looked at her in surprise and laughed.

"Thank you, Mom, for supporting my delusions. Don’t get my hopes up. That’s as impossible as ink from a squid." I laughed. It’s so unlikely. I just think that he talks to me because my family is close to his. Maybe they’re just really grateful to my parents, so I’m an exception.

"I can feel it, dear. Based on your sister’s stories, he’s already fallen for you." I smiled. Well, mom knows best. I smiled again. When will that happen?

Mom and I continued talking until Dad called her to go to bed. I was left alone. The night was so bright because of the moon. I looked up, staring at the shining stars when I felt my phone vibrate.

"The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?" I immediately blushed. I know this number. I looked around, expecting Rhythm to be nearby, but he wasn’t. I scanned the nearby houses and saw a large house not far away. My eyes widened even more when I saw him. I couldn’t help but smile. I looked down at my phone just as his name popped up in a notification. I quickly answered.

"Hello?" I began.

We were just looking at each other. If I were ice, I would have melted from his smile.

"Hi, Lai." Gosh! Here he goes again with that pet name. "You still haven’t answered my question." I thought for a moment. Did he ask me something?

"Huh? You didn’t ask me anything." I said, still looking at him while holding the phone to my ear. He did the same. He laughed a little. Was something funny?

"The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?" he repeated. His voice was so manly with each word he spoke. But I didn’t know what to say. My mind went blank. I looked up at the moon, then back at him. He nodded.

"Hmmm. It’s beautiful," I said. He went silent again. We just stared at each other.

"Do you have something on your mind?" I asked.

"Not really. I just wanted to talk to you." I didn’t know what to feel. This is too much for my heart.

"Are you sick? I thought you didn’t talk much." I said. He just kept looking at me, laughing softly. Gosh! He’s so handsome.
