Ada had just finished fixing the last pile of folders on the desk when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He glanced at the screen, a small smile tugging at his lips when he saw Rhythm's name flashing. He quickly answered, keeping his voice low.

"Love..." Rhythm's voice was warm, almost a whisper. "I'm ready to pick you up at the hotel."

Ada let out a small sigh of relief at the sound of him. "Yes, I'm done now. I was about to step out. Thank you for waiting, Love."

But before Ada could say anything more, another voice cut in—familiar, amused.

"No need to pick him up, Rhythm."

Ada froze. It was Gulf. His eyes widened, and he glanced instinctively around the office, as though caught doing something he shouldn't.

"Mom?" Rhythm's voice turned sharp with disbelief. "Why are you the one answering Ada's phone?"

Ada nearly dropped his phone from the awkwardness, but Gulf's soft chuckle on the other line calmed him a little.

"Because Ada is with me," Gulf replied smoothly. "He's coming home with me to the mansion tonight. So you don't need to drive here, son."

There was a beat of silence before Rhythm exhaled heavily, frustration clear in his tone. "Mom... you can't just—"

"Oh, I can," Gulf interrupted, still chuckling. "Besides, Tyronne will be thrilled. It means you can't touch Ada again tonight, hmm?"

Ada's face heated instantly, his free hand covering his mouth to stop a nervous laugh. Gulf, on the other hand, sounded thoroughly entertained.

"Mom, that's not funny," Rhythm groaned.

"I miss you too, Rhythm," Gulf teased, his tone dripping with affection but also firm with authority. "And tomorrow is weekend—you don't have classes. So you can both stay overnight at the mansion. I'll make sure there's space for the two of you."

Ada swallowed, torn between embarrassment and comfort at how protective Gulf was. He stayed quiet, letting the two handle it.

"You head straight to the mansion now—" Gulf added. But Gulf's voice dropped, carrying that commanding edge that always made his sons straighten instantly.

The shift in tone was enough. Ada even felt it through the phone—Gulf was no longer playfully teasing. "Ada will ride with me. You go home and wait. Did I make myself clear?"

Silence. Then, a reluctant sigh.

"... Yes, Mom." Rhythm's voice was lower now, defeated but obedient.

"Good." Gulf's tone softened again, his smile audible. "Don't sulk too much, son. You'll see him later.."

Before Rhythm could protest again, Gulf ended the call. Ada slowly lowered the phone, blinking at Gulf, who stood beside him with a smug expression. They laugh together.

The long dining table was alive with warmth and noise, the chandelier above scattering golden light across smiling faces. Mew sat at the head of the table, calmly slicing into his roasted chicken while discussing business with Kyle.

“You sent the revised proposal?” Mew asked, his voice steady but proud.

“Yes, Dad,” Kyle replied, nodding. “The partners are reconsidering the investment cap. I think it’s leaning in our favor. I’ll update you with details tomorrow.”

“Good,” Mew said with a faint smile. “You’re handling this well. I’m proud.”

On the other side of the table, Shine was gently coaxing mashed potatoes into little Shy’s mouth. “Open wide, sweetheart. You can’t eat only bread all night.”
