Lisa had lost all hope that the three of them would be a normal family. He didn't know when it started, but somehow, he just accepted that this family only had two endings. One of them was separation, and the other was the eternal misery of staying in a loveless marriage till death.

But looking at his wife and son sleeping soundly in the backseat, not even knowing they arrived home, brought this tickling bubble in his heart. They looked so peaceful and adorable. All the impatience and irritation that he accumulated for the day instantly disappeared. His exhaustion also magically vanished.

'How baffling,' thought Lisa, reaching his hand out to Jennie.

Just as his fingertips brushed the strand of hair on her side, a moan slipped past her lips.

"Mhm." Jennie furrowed her brows as her eyelashes fluttered open. "Lisa?"

She blinked a few times until her vision cleared up, looking around the car and then at the person outside. She caught a glimpse of the mansion behind Lisa, realizing they already arrived home.

"I —" Jennie noticed the weight on her side, holding Jevin's head on instinct. Her lips curled up subtly, seeing that her son also fell asleep on the way home.

"I'll carry him inside," said Lisa, and when she turned her head, Lisa already walked to the other side of the door.

Before Lisa could open the door, the driver hastily hitched outside.

"Sir, let me —"

"It's alright. Don't bother." Lisa waved dismissively. "I'll do it."

With that, he opened the door before bending over. His upper body entered the car, snapping his eyes at Jennie.

"Can you move him carefully?" he asked because Jevin was leaning against her.

"Sure."

The husband and wife worked together in harmony as Lisa carried Jevin out of the car. The little master was fast asleep, moving a little, but didn't wake up. Meanwhile, Jennie stretched her neck and shoulders to loosen up the tension in her muscles before getting out of the vehicle.

As soon as Jennie stepped out, she looked over the roof to see Lisa putting his hand on top of their son's head.

"Did you just get home?" she blurted out, as it seemed to her that was the case.

"Mhm. I got here at the same time as you."

Did he mean they just arrived? Jennie didn't dwell on the sudden inquiry in her head, thinking that was the case. Little did she know, they'd been here for five minutes and Lisa just didn't wake her up.

"Uh, sir, do you need help?" Suddenly, a familiar voice reached Jennie's ears, making her shift her attention to the owner of the voice.

There, rushing to Lisa's side, was his executive assistant, Kim Jisoo.

A frown instantly dominated her face at the sight of the man, making the latter feel a chill down his spine.

"No, it's alright." Lisa refused. "And also, keep your voice down. Jevy is sleeping."

"Ah, yes, sir."

"Jennie." Lisa glanced at his wife, and the moment he did, the frown on her face was gone. "Let's go inside."

"Mhm."

With that being said, Lisa marched to the house while Jennie idled for a moment. The moment the two walked side by side, she looked back at Jisoo and glared at him.

"Huh?" Jisoo blinked, tilting his head to the side. "Did I... did I do something wrong?"

Jisoo kept his eyes on Jennie's back, confused. Although Jennie didn't make it too obvious, Jisoo felt the hostility from her he never felt before. Sure. Jennie treated her husband as if Lisa wasn't her husband for the first five years of their marriage. However, Jisoo, although had his own thoughts about it, didn't verbally express it nor did he treat Jennie discriminately. Not that he had the chance, but even if he had a chance, he would still give the respect his boss' wife needed.

So, why?

Why was his boss's wife glaring at him as if she blamed him for the sins of the world?

"I think... I'm being wrongfully accused behind closed doors," he mumbled, only to feel a hand on his shoulder. When he turned his head, the driver — his partner — sighed.

"I think that's the reason the boss is in a rush to go home, but he still got late," said the driver with another heavy sigh. "You should take care of his schedule more strictly. I'm afraid there will be a shift of power in this family in no time." — especially if the young madam continued to act this way.

Jisoo scrunched his nose up. "How was that my fault?" he slowly set his eyes ahead, only to see Dara and a few servants rush outside to welcome the family of three.

"I didn't know he was that tired," Jennie whispered, covering Jevin with a blanket after Lisa put him down. "It's a good thing we had dinner before coming home."

Lisa glanced at her, watching her securely cover Jevin with the blanket. He stood on the other side of the bed, staring at the subtle smile dominating her face.

"I thought you didn't feel well this morning," he remarked, making her look up at him. "And you were a little hot as well."

"I am always hot," she humored, but he didn't react. "Well, I also thought I will have a fever, but staying in bed will not help."

Lisa wanted to argue about her last remarks, but he stopped himself. "You should rest when necessary," was all he said to not sound controlling.

"Hai hai." Jennie sat down on the edge of the bed, eyes on Jevin. "Do you think he will sleep through the night? Or will he wake up? Should I wake him up now and change his clothes to a much more comfortable one?"

"Let Dara do it."

Jennie gazed up, frowning. "Is that alright?"

"You can't wait for him throughout the night since you don't know if he will wake up later or the next day."

"That's not a problem for me." She blinked. "I can stay here all night with Jevy. After all, it was my idea to take him out on a date. So, I should make sure he is well until the very end, right?"

There was a moment of silence in the room, staring at each other. Her eyes told him she had no problem staying with their son and her argument made sense. But... not for him.

"How are we going to fit in this bed?" Lisa spoke in a plain tone and his expression was stoic.

"We?"

He blinked ever so tenderly. "Yes. You, Jevy, and me. We." The corner of his lips curved down as he furrowed his brows.

"Am I not included in the plan?"
