Jennie's lips parted, watching the scene from the sidelines. 'That's... Kim Hanbin?' her eyes sparkled in amusement, looking at Hanbin from head to toe.

When Jennie met him for the first time, she immediately mistook him for an angel in the flesh. Hanbin's appearance was already bedazzling, but his looks right now gave him a different allure. Donning a black slim fit, his hair was styled down, matching the fierce makeup that made him look sexy.

Oh, la la.

'Though my husband already looks like that on normal days,' she thought, but still overall amused at how different Hanbin was in person and in front of the camera. 'I want to tell Director Guan most felons don't look like that.'

Jennie sighed, hugging her body with a huge jacket, as she was wearing a thin dress underneath. She just came out to see the progress of the set and found herself watching Hanbin act.

"CUT!!!!" Jennie flinched when Director Guan shouted, shifting her baffled gaze to the director's chair. "That's great! Good, good!"

Director Guan happily clapped his hand while some people came to Hanbin and the other actors to help them. The scene they did was one of the introductory scenes for Hanbin's character's first appearance in the film.

"Haha! That's a good one!" Director Guan happily checked the monitors as he quickly reviewed the shots taken while Hanbin approached him. Hanbin bent over, smiling, pleased at the results of the first scene he did.

"Good job! Keep it up — though I need you to look way fiercer and seductive." Director Guan planted his hand on Hanbin's shoulder, squeezing it mildly. "This is already good enough. It's a strong start, so it's best if you keep this momentum."

"Yes, Director." Hanbin nodded before catching a familiar figure from the corner of his eyes. When he raised his head and his eyes landed on Jennie, his slips stretched from ear to ear.

"Jennie!" he called, and Director Guan also shifted his attention to Jennie.

"Oh, great! You're here! Jennie, come here for a second."

Jennie pointed at herself, confused. It wasn't her time to do her scene, so why was Director Guan calling her? Despite her confusion, Jennie went to them since she wouldn't get answers if she only ask herself.

"Yes, Director Guan?" Her brows rose the moment she stepped foot in Director Guan and Hanbin's vicinity.

"Have you practiced your lines?" asked Director Guan directly, receiving a nod from her. "Then are you ready to shoot this scene?"

Director Guan picked up the script on the table nearby while Jennie walked closer. "Since Hanbin is already here, and he already shot a few of his scenes, I want to see your chemistry first."

Director Guan explained the sudden change of schedule he just thought about on a whim. Shooting Hanbin's scene shot up sparks of passion in the director's heart, excited to see what would be the outcome of Hanbin and Jennie's pairings as both outlaws.

"We'll shoot this now?" Jennie blinked, surprised. "How about Lea? It's her next scene. Will that be fine with her?"

"Ah, about that." Director Guan frowned as if he had completely forgotten Lea's scene. Strange that Lea was the leading lady and yet, he was more inclined to do a side character's scene.

Director Guan rubbed his chin as he pondered on how to compromise. From his perspective, seeing Jennie play her role was more important since this role was like a cherry on top. Director Guan had already seen Lea and Hanbin rehearse together, so he wanted to see Hanbin and Jennie together.

"Director, I am here!" Just then, Lea approached them.

Unlike Hanbin's fancy attire and Jennie's alluring makeup, Lea was just in a casual shirt underneath a leather jacket paired with pants. Her hair was tied up in a pony, displaying her beautiful small face. Though she had a badge hanging on her hip, she looked very simple, unlike the actors that just shot a scene with Hanbin.

"Oh, Lea!" Director Guan clapped while Lea approached them. As soon as she stood within the group, she glanced at Jennie with a kind smile. "Jennie, what are you doing here? Were you checking the scene Senior Kim just shot?"

Lea tilted her head to the side, showing that she was simply curious. But deep behind the mask, it annoyed her how Jennie kept lingering around Director Guan. As if snagging attention like that would grant her more screen time than Lea's.

"Uh, well..."

"Jennie, I know you are excited to be a part of this project. But you also have to keep in mind this is work," said Lea with a concerned tone. "You'll put Senior Kim in a difficult position if you trouble Director Guan."

"Oh..."

Lea smiled as she faced Director Guan. "I'm sorry about that. Jennie was just excited since she had been on hiatus for the past five years. Please extend your understanding."

"Haha! I heard Miss Jung and Jennie are best friends. I guess it wasn't hearsay, seeing how you care for her like a sister." Director Guan chuckled, pleased at how Lea appeared to be a little protective and understanding toward Jennie, but at the same time, sticking to her obligations in her work.

Pleased at branding herself as a concerned friend, Lea's smile grew brighter. Though, this satisfaction was once again short-lived.

"But you don't have to worry, Miss Jung. Jennie isn't bothering me at all. If anything, I was the one who called her since I want to discuss her scene with her," explained Director Guan, feeling more confident now after seeing Lea's relationship with her friend. "I want to do her scene first since it's important to see her impact in the movie, but she was worried because I was supposed to shoot yours first."

Director Guan cleared his throat as he continued, "Is it alright with you if we shoot this one scene first before yours? Can you give way to your best friend?"

'What?' Lea's bright smile slightly faded in disbelief at Director Guan's request. 'Isn't she just a minor side character? How come you want to delay mine just to take her scene first!?'

Rage and frustration swelled in Lea's chest, but she used her remaining energy to keep up a good front.

"Well, of course," she breathed out, forcing a smile. "I trust Director Guan. If you think taking her scene first is necessary and much more important than mine, then I trust your judgment."

"Miss Jung, of course, you are important. You're one of the leads, after all!"

Lea smiled, pleased Director Guan finally understood her importance. But alas...

Director Guan clapped in excitement, turning his head in Hanbin's direction to see the latter smiling brightly. "Hanbin, Jennie, prepare for the next scene..."

While Director Guan gave Hanbin his instructions, Lea's eyes flashed contempt. The only person who could see Lea's displeasure was the smiling Jennie.

"Lea, thanks for making a way for me." Jennie leaped to Lea's side with a huge smile, waiting for the latter to look back at her. "Director Guan was a little troubled that you will not be okay with it, but you still gave way. Don't worry. I'll make sure to do my best so you won't wait for too long. Good luck to me!"

'Or... good luck to you, Jung Lea. I hope you brought a mountain of patience today because you'll need a lot of that.'
