Chapter 120: I just don't like him

"By the way, I might work for a little while."    

"Hmm?" Lisa watched Jennie sit upright, facing him squarely. "What do you mean by that?"    

"Well... I asked Senior Kim if I can have a small role in the upcoming project he would work on with Lea. He said there was a vacant role that, until now, hadn't filled in," she explained in one go. "If Director Guan is fine with it, I'll get the role. It's a minor one, so I'd probably need to be in the set once or twice a week."    

Her lips curled up, tilting her head to the side. "That's okay, right?"    

Of course, it was okay.     

Lisa never asked her to stop her world when she got married. As he mentioned earlier, Jennie decided to stop acting altogether. However, despite that fact, Lisa felt a little reluctant.     

Having Jennie go back to work was not the problem. The problem was he disliked that guy she was calling Senior Kim.     

"I'm not stopping you," he said monotonously. "However, may I know why you want to work on that project in particular? Or had you been thinking of going back to work?"    

"If it's the latter, then I would've told you beforehand." Jennie chuckled, placing her hand on his thigh. "My decision was not in my plans, but I thought I should give it a go."    

"And why is that?" he asked before he could even gravitate whether or not to ask.     

"Because of Lea!" Jennie pouted, fluttering her eyelashes coquettishly. "I want to give her a surprise. Her birthday is coming up. She's someone who can afford anything she wants, so the only gift I can give her is a memory of us working together."    

Jennie scooted over to Lisa's side, hugging his arm sweetly. "Now that I thought about it, Lea and I hadn't worked on a project together. It'll be nice to work with her, even for a bit. She upsets me, but she's still my friend."    

"Is that really all?"     

"Hmm? Why? Are you expecting me to have other reasons?"    

"Hm." Lisa nodded. "You're not going to work on that project because of this Senior Kim?"    

Jennie blinked, looking at Lisa while her lips fell open. "Baby, don't tell me you're serious when you said you're jealous of him?"    

"I'm not jealous of him. I just don't like him."    

"Goodness." Jennie couldn't help but giggle. "You're so adorable, babe. But no, it's not because of him. We already worked in the past, after all."    

"You did?"    

"Mhm. Though I don't want to get more into it because you might get angry."    

Lisa narrowed his eyes suspiciously, only for her to burst out in laughter. A sigh escaped his nostrils, tugging her hand while shaking his head.     

"Don't tease me like this. It's not fun, Jennie," he frowned, displaying how irate he felt.     

"Gosh." Jennie dramatically cupped his handsome face. "Lisa Manoban, what should I do to reassure you there's nothing between me and Senior Kim?"    

"Stop mentioning him." His answer was quick as if he didn't even think about it.     

"Well, I didn't mean to, but since I have to ask your permission regarding this gig, I have to mention him at least." Her smile turned from playful to soft, leaning her face to plant a quick peck on his lips. "But now that I already relayed the message, I won't mention him again."    

His frown remained, so Jennie planted another soft kiss on his lips. When it didn't work, she leaned her face before grinning mischievously. She stuck her tongue out, licking his lips playfully.     

"Taste good!" she winked as soon as she drew her head back.     

"What am I going to do to you?" he muttered, before pulling her arm. His other hand immediately cupped her face, tilting his head as he claimed her lips for a passionate kiss.     

"Mhm..." Jennie slowly moved closer, snaking her hand around his neck.    

"..."     

The driver glanced at the rear mirror, only to see Jennie crawling up to his boss's lap. Before he could see anything more, he awkwardly raised the partition to give the two some privacy.     

'I've worked for him even before he became the CEO of the company,' the driver thought, trying to get rid of the scene he glimpsed in the back seat. 'I never thought I'd ever be in this situation, ever!'    

If this was someone else, the driver wouldn't be surprised. After all, there were people out there who had no shame in doing it inside the car, even if there was another person inside. However, through his years of working for Lisa, there was never a time another woman rode in the same car as him.     

The only women who did were Lisa's mother, grandmother, and Jennie.     

So, what was happening in the backseat was mind-boggling.    

Hearing faint moans and smooching sounds of what resembled kissing, the driver gulped a mouthful. He awkwardly reached for the earplugs, setting the volume too high just to not hear the sounds in the backseat.     

"Wait." Jennie pulled her head back, resting her forehead against his. She was now sitting on his lap, her arms around his neck, while his hands were on her thigh. "I think we should keep it... shh."    

Jennie placed a finger in front of her lips before pointing her thumb over her shoulder. Understanding her concern, Lisa chuckled.     

"Stop the car," he ordered without taking his eyes off Jennie, but the vehicle didn't stop. "He can't hear us. My people know how to give me privacy."    

Jennie narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "Lisa Manoban, have you done this before?"    

"They do that when I don't want them to listen to my meetings," he explained, shrugging. "Why? Does another person's presence bothers you?"    

Hell, no.    

The side of her lips curled up, biting her bottom lip. "It's... exciting if we are supposed to be discreet about it." Jennie arched a brow as she felt his finger unbutton her jeans.     

She gazed down before looking back at him. "Gosh. Are you serious?" she blinked.    

"I am." He nodded without even attempting to deny it. "I thought the feeling was mutual since you crawled your way on my lap."    

Jennie pressed her lips before she lowered her head. "You wouldn't give me the chance to act innocent, will you?" she humored before her lips landed on his, wanting to give him a bonus round for picking her up and saving her from her torturous meeting with Lea.     

Little did Jennie know, things were about to challenge her claims for turning into a new leaf.
