Adnan's POV

My breakfast had already turned cold as I mindlessly scrolled through my camera roll looking at amrah's pictures. I found myself looking at her pictures so often. I zoomed into the one picture that caught my eye remembering when I took it, it was a long time ago when we first met. She had no idea that I captured this picture.

It's the most beautiful I have of her. She wore the most beautiful smile that lit up her face. I still remember exactly how I felt in that moment, it was like I was struck by an arrow, I still feel like that whenever she smiles at me.

I can't get her out of my head and I don't want to. Giving her time and space has been so daunting, restraining myself from calling her or going to see her is a constant battle. It's hard not to but I know it's probably for the best to back off for now.

A message came in asking me what to write on the card for her graduation gift to be sent to her today. I contemplated what to write, I settled on a short message congratulating her and letting her know that I'm proud of her. I couldn't help but wonder if she'll like it. I hope she knows that I still care deeply for her. We both looked forward to her graduation so much, she always wanted to graduate before we get married. I couldn't wait for her to graduate since it meant a step closer to finally being together. I didn't imagine that things will turn opposite from what we planned.

"Hey bro!" My sister Aisha chirped interrupting my thoughts. "It's a surprise to see you home today, you've been hard to catch lately." She stated pouting herself a cup of tea.

I nodded completely agreeing. I can't remember the last time I sat to eat breakfast at home. I'm always rushing to go to work, I mostly grab a bite at the office. I mostly get home so late and by then she is asleep because she has school the next day. So we barely meet for a long conversation.

"I know..." I replied apologetically "Its really been hectic but how's school?" I asked turning to face her.

"We are on holiday already!" she squealed excitedly before taking a bite of her food. "I'm free!"

"Ohh..I'm sorry..so how were your exams. I hope you did well." I asked a bit embarrassed that I was so busy with my self I've not been giving any time to my family.

"Yep I did great." She said proudly. "btw you promised to buy me a new phone if I got all distinctions."

I nodded. "Yes of course I did not forget but I need some proof." I replied playfully to see her reaction.

She gasped in disbelief. "You don't actually think I'm going to lie right?" I shrugged with a teasing smile. "Ok no problem I'm going to get my result right now.." she eagerly got up to go upstairs .

I chuckled at her determined expression to prove her grades and held her back. "I'm joking of course, I trust you. Go to my room and check the bed side drawer for a surprise" I got up and grabbed my car keys.

Her eyes widened with excitement. "Are you serious?!" She exclaimed in disbelief and before I replied, she jumped into my arms almost knocking me over. "Oh my God! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You're the best brother in this world."

"You're welcome. I'm so proud of you. Keep it up." I replied kissing her forehead. She truly deserves it because she works so hard to get good grades always. She ran upstairs excitedly while still thanking me.

I got into my car and drove to the gym to get some workout in. I need to clear my head.
My mind was restless, consumed with thoughts and the most burdensome one was how to take down this menace of a person called Naseer. I can't relax until I get him behind bars so he pays for the uncountable disgusting things he has done.
