   Y/N'S POV

I sat inside Wayne Manor, waiting for Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne wasn't just any guy. He was my boyfriend, and we had been dating for six years as of two days ago. However, it looked like Bruce would be coming home late again for the third time this week. By now, this sort of thing did not really surprise me. I loved him, but I knew exactly what Bruce was doing every night. I just wanted Bruce to confirm it.
You don't just come back from "work" with a slash trailing down the left side of your face, a broken rib, and a busted lip. Bruce spent much time at Wayne Enterprises, but I knew there wasn't that much action going on at Wayne Enterprises every night. Of course, there had been some incidents that had previously taken place at Wayne Enterprises over the years, but the chaos had been happening outside of Wayne Enterprises for the past few months.

Even after all the excuses Bruce had given me over the years, I never once left him or made a single attempt to leave him. I knew that many women in my situation would not have hesitated to end things with Bruce, but I didn't want to leave Bruce at all. I just wanted Bruce to come clean about being Batman. That was all I wanted.

I just happened to look to the left of me, and Bruce was standing there.

  Bruce said,"Y/N?"

  "Yes, Bruce?"

Bruce sent me a look of concern,"Are you okay?"

Bruce's concern was cute, yet I still had to talk to him.

  I nodded,"Yeah, everything's fine."

I replied the way I did, because I wanted Bruce to question me further. Plus, Bruce knew when I only gave him less than two or three sentences in response that something was up. Normally, I would talk to him for several minutes at a time about anything.

Bruce raised an eyebrow and asked me,"Y/N, what is it? Did I do something to upset you?"

I said,"Actually, Bruce can I ask you something?"

Bruce nodded,"You can ask me anything, Y/N."

"Okay, Bruce. How come you still haven't told me the truth about how you really spend your time when you leave Wayne Manor most nights?"

Bruce stood there with an unreadable expression. It was a facial expression even Hugo Strange would have trouble reading...

Bruce sighed, admitting to me,"I never told you, because you're Y/N. Y/N, you have been with me for six years and I felt that if I had told you that I was Batman, then it would put you in even more danger than you are already in every day that you continue to be with me. Y/N, I didn't plan on meeting you the day that I saved you from Penguin, but I am glad that I did. I love you more than I have loved any other woman that has been in my life, besides from my mother, and I want you to continue to be with me for as long as you'll have me. I have lost many friends and members of this family at some point in my life, and I do not want to lose you, too."

I didn't know what to say, but I appreciated Bruce admitting everything to me. Technically, I didn't say I knew about Bruce being Batman, but Bruce admitted it to me anyway. Bruce had also admitted other things to me that I wasn't planning on hearing today, but I was honored that Bruce had chosen to share what he had been holding in. I was happy that he didn't give me another excuse or steer me towards a completely different conversation.

  "Bruce, I....."

I stopped talking when Bruce slowly got down on one knee.

He asked me,"Y/N M/N L/N, will you marry me?"

  I yelled,"YES, YES, OF COURSE I WILL!!"

Who wouldn't want to marry Bruce Wayne?

Bruce smiled at me, and it was a smile that even the Joker could not match. Maybe the Joker could match Bruce's smile, since Bruce wasn't smiling that hard as the Joker normally did, but you know what I meant...

Bruce slid the ring onto my finger and cupped my face saying,"Well, what do you think, Mrs. Wayne?"

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck saying,"I think that this is a great beginning to our bright future, Dark Knight."

After this moment, I knew that I was going to continue to be the luckiest person in the world. No one could even comprehend how I truly felt right now. Bruce Wayne had chosen me to continue to be at his side, and that was what I was going to continue to do.
