   3RD PERSON POV

Clark Kent quickly realized that it was very difficult to keep his appearances consistent at The Daily Planet and wherever Superman would be needed for the day. Even though Clark Kent struggled with making certain appearances, there were things that Clark enjoyed in life. One of those things was when Clark had the privilege to see someone named Y/N L/N every day.
Y/N was kind, smart, yet stubborn, but Clark learned to meet Y/N halfway. He learned that meeting Y/N halfway would come to make things easier between them. Clark also learned that because Y/N was stubborn, it often times caused him to find himself trying to save Y/N from people like Lex Luthor.

   Y/N'S POV

I sighed for the hundredth time today. I received yet another article from Perry. He was a great friend, but I hated many of the articles he decided to graciously give me. The articles were really busy articles to keep me from seeing Clark. It reminded me of high school, when teachers would give the class "busy work" that often times wouldn't count for much towards the final grade of the class. Perry was smart, so he knew that it was only a matter of time before I would begin to stall him.

Speaking of Clark, I spotted him walking towards my desk.

I smiled at him and said,"Hi, Clark. What's up?"

Clark asked me,"I was wondering if you have heard any news on Lex lately?"

I shook my head and said,"No, not yet. Why?"

Clark leaned on my desk saying,"Lex seems too quiet lately. No threats. No sudden appearances. Nothing. That's odd, even for him."

"Well, maybe he decided to take the day off."

Clark looked at me for a moment, before he said,"Maybe. I'll see you later."

  I nodded saying,"Okay."

After Clark left, I thought about what he had said about Lex. That was when I decided to investigate myself. Suddenly, the alarm started to go off, which meant the intruder was already in the building.
Quickly, I hid, not knowing who was in the building with me. Then, I heard footsteps and stopped myself from letting out a scream or any weird noises. However, the individual grabbed me, and something was quickly placed over my mouth. I started to feel light-headed, before I hit the ground and slowly closed my eyes.

A FEW HOURS LATER, BUT NOT TOO MANY...

I woke up in a dark room, and I was tied to a very uncomfortable chair. I looked around and nothing seemed familiar, yet I spotted Lex Luthor casually walking towards me.

I rolled my eyes saying,"Lex, what are you doing?"

Lex said in a casual tone,"Oh, I just stole you as a way to get Superman's attention."

I nodded saying,"Right, so why would he come for me?"

Lex looked at me dumbfounded and said,"The Man of Steel will come for you, Miss L/N, because he cares about you. He will do anything for you. Plus, his beloved city, Metropolis, is on the line as well."

I would have given Lex a standing ovation, if I didn't already know everything Lex had just told me about Superman. Superman constantly stopped by my house to check on me. There were plenty of other places that Superman could have gone to, so why would Superman choose my place so often?
A couple of months ago, I put the Clark Kent and Superman thing together, but I did not understand how the world never figured it out. I promised Clark I would not to tell anyone, though. I always kept my promises.

  "Okay, then."

I said it proudly, because I was Superman's girl. And because I was Superman's girl, this sort of thing happened to me all the time. I didn't mind it that much since he always ended up making it to me in time.

I spotted Superman from the corner of my eye, which caused me to silently rejoice on the inside. Superman quietly told me to cut myself free, while he distracted Luthor.

Superman crossed his arms saying,"Hello, Luthor."

Lex immediately turned his head to look at Superman, and Superman now had Lex's undivided attention. I cut myself free and headed over to my spot.

Lex chuckled saying,"Superman. Glad you could make it."

"Lex, stand down. This is your last warning."

Lex shook his head saying,"Sorry, Superman. I cannot do that. This is way too important."

Superman replied,"I was not asking, Luthor."

I took this as my chance to get behind Luthor and make my move. I hit him in the head with the chair I was just in, because there was nothing else available...
I did my happy dance, and Superman made his way over to me. I already knew what was coming next.

Superman asked, examining my face for any marks or bruises,"Y/N, are you okay? Did you hurt anything?"

I smiled lovingly at Clark saying,"No, Clark. I'm fine. I promise."

I took this moment as a time to wrap my arms around Clark's neck and said,"Thank you for saving me, though."

Clark chuckled and replied,"You're welcome, Y/N. Princess, I'll always come to save you. Always."

Clark then leaned in and kissed me. I knew there had been a few times where Clark didn't make it to the victim in time, but I was glad that this wasn't one of those times.
