   Y/N'S POV

At first, Oliver was a mystery to me. I could not imagine what it was like to have to live on an island alone for 5 years. I knew he could not have been the only one there, though. I was thankful for whomever helper him out, even if Oliver liked to play the solo card most of the time. Oliver held secrets, but I never pushed him about those secrets that he kept.

I always told myself,"Oliver will tell me when he is ready."

That didn't mean Oliver was free from things like nightmares, because his nightmares were constant.

I was downstairs reading Lord of the Rings and thought,"This book is great, but it might take me a few days to finish. It might take me longer than that."

I was on the part where Frodo had just decided to take on the mantel of the ring by himself, when...I heard screaming coming from upstairs. It was not just any scream, but Oliver's scream. I bolted up the stairs and ran into Oliver and I's bedroom.
Oliver was thrashing around in his sleep. His eyebrows were squinted. His hands were gripping the bed so tightly I could see his hands turning a different shade. After I noticed these things, I also noticed the tears falling down his face.

I rushed over to Oliver and sat on top of him to control his hands and his feet. If you did not know already, Oliver was very strong. It took me a while to hold him down.
When I felt that it was okay to stop holding him down, I tried shaking Oliver to wake him up. After that failed to work, I kissed him. Oliver's face relaxed, but the kiss wasn't enough to wake him up.

This time, I tried calling his name.

"OLIVER? OLIVER? BABE, WAKE UP! WAKE UP!!"

Clearly, yelling did not work, so I raised my voice a few octaves higher, still yelling.

"OLIVER, OLIVER!! BABY, PLEASE WAKE UP!! IT'S ME, Y/N!! WAKE UP!!"

This caused Oliver to open his eyes and to sit up straight. He looked around for me, and I knew just what he needed. In response to his search, I pushed him back down and started to calm him down.

I said,"It's okay, Oliver. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."

Oliver hugged me and sniffed saying,"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up, N/N. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Oliver started to apologize too many times, but I stopped his apologies by whispering soothing words into his right ear. I slowly laid down with Oliver. I wrapped his arms around my waist tightly. I wanted Oliver to know that I would be right here with him.

Oliver smiled and said,"I love you. Please don't leave me."

I held Oliver's hand saying,"I will never leave you. I promise. I love you as well."

After all of this, Oliver eventually went to sleep. When I said "eventually,"I really meant almost four hours later. When Oliver would wake up and search for me again, which was very likely, I would make sure that Oliver knew that I had no intention of leaving him to handle this by himself. I made him a promise to stay with him through anything, and I was going to keep my promise.
