Barbara Gordon x Best Friend Reader

Imagine hanging out with the lovely and confident, Miss Barbara Gordon.

   Y/N'S POV

  Every day I was blessed to be best friends with Barbara Gordon. Barb was one of the sweetest yet toughest girls on the planet. She was confident, smart, and persuasive in her own way. I was sure it had something to do with her nightly patrols as Batgirl, but she was born to do good in this world.
  Currently, I was on my way to GCPD Barb and I were going to go for lunch, since the boys needed to go out on missions. I never questioned their decisions, because I was afraid I would get the famous Bat-glare from Bruce. Trust me, I received nightmares all the time from them.

  As I walked into GCPD, I greeted the officers and wished them luck. They were going need it going out into the streets of Gotham. I always admired the Gotham Police Force, because they were always so brave and did anything it took to protect their families and friends.

  The officers sent me smiles and goodbyes back, before they went out to work.

  I smiled and heard a voice say,"Looking stunning, darling."

  I turned and looked in the direction of where the voice was coming from. They appeared from the shadows, and it was my ex-boyfriend.

  I rolled my eyes and said,"Did you learn something in here? I am hoping you did by now."

  He smirked and just looked me up and down.

  I looked away in disgust and said,"I see somethings still have not changed about you. Maybe you should have thought about that before trying to kill me. No hard feelings, though, because I already got a man. He doesn't try to kill me."

  He scoffed and said,"You mean, Wayne? The rich boy? I am sure he takes real good care of you. I do not see what is so great about him, but at least he will give you some attention. You have always wanted that, right?"

  I had to keep myself from hitting him, so I just walked away. I wondered why I went out with him in the first place. Maybe it was because I was lonely and needed someone just to listen and comfort me. He gave it to me at first, but I realized it was just a game to him.

  I walked inside Gordon's office, before Barb walked in.

  She squealed and hugged me saying,"Y/N, I MISSED YOU, BESTIE!! LET'S GO!!"

  I chuckled softly and followed Barb out of GCPD. We went to get in my car, but Gordon stopped us.

  I couldn't help but smile and said,"Yes, Jim?"

  Gordon sternly said,"I do not want you two getting in trouble, okay? If you do, I will be there to pick you up. Barb, you go nowhere without Y/N; Y/N, you go nowhere without Barb, got it?"

  Barb and I nodded, before Jim kissed both of our cheeks and smiled saying,"Go have fun, girls. I love you both and call me if you need anything."

  I drove off, and we decided to walk around the huge plaza.

  Barb cleared her throat and said,"So, how have you and Bruce been? Everything going okay?"

  "We have been better. What about Dick and you? I hope you guys are doing excellent."

  Barb chuckled and blushed saying,"Yeah we are. We are going on a date later. Dick might have told me about what happened with Bruce and you the other day."

  I nodded and sighed saying,"Then, you know that he has been distancing himself from me. I know his past was rough, Barb, but I just want to help him. Bruce is not the most open person, so I do not know what to do. What do I do? I need your help, bestie."

  Barb dramatically said,"I guess I can help the lost and nice best friend who really needs me. I think the two best things that you can do is to be there for him and be patient with him, Y/N. Bruce has been through enough pain, and I am sure he is afraid of getting you involved. Help him, even when he does not want your help, and be patient with him, okay?"

  I nodded and said,"Okay, Barb. Thanks for that, I really needed that advice. What now?"

  Barb looked around and suggested,"Why don't we go back to the Manor and hang out? Then, you can talk to Bruce, and I can see Dick."

  I immediately nodded and said,"Great idea. I am right behind you, Batgirl."

  Barb smiled and wanted to drive, so I let her take us back. When we arrived, Dick attacked Barb in a tight hug. I giggled, but I needed to find Bruce.

  Barb gently pushed me forward and said,"Go, I will be fine."

  I quickly jogged down the stairs and saw Bruce pacing around.

  I cleared my throat and joked saying,"Bruce, if you think too much, then your head will explode!!"

  Bruce stopped walking and embraced me, hugging me tightly. I smiled and hugged back.

  Bruce kissed my forehead saying,"What took you so long? I am sorry for being so distant and guarded, but I will try to talk to you about things, okay? I love you, Y/N."

  I blushed but stroked Bruce's cheek saying,"I love you, too, Batman. I would appreciate that, Brucie. Do not be afraid to come to me if you want to talk, yeah?"

  Bruce nodded and sent me a genuine smile, before he pulled me in for another hug. I returned his hug, and we sat down together. Then, Barb and Dick joined Bruce and I.

  Barb looked over at me and asked,"Everything going to be okay?"

  I nodded and glanced over at Bruce saying,"Yeah, I think so. We'll be fine. Thanks for being my best friend, Barb."

  She nodded and said,"You're welcome. I'm glad you're my best friend too."
