Bruce Wayne x Reader

Takes place during The Dark Knight...Amazing movie. Definitely worth watching a million times..Also, my favorite superhero movie of all time, if you must know.

   Y/N'S POV

  The best friend of yours truly, The Dark Knight, here. I'm in love with Bruce, but he obviously has feelings for Rachel Dawes. Rachel knew him way before I did. They practically grew up together.
  I knew that was going to make my pursuit of Bruce harder, but maybe he felt the same about me. Maybe he just hadn't said anything yet.

  Right now, Bruce was suiting up to go after Joker and Harvey. As I laid down, I heard a knock on the door. I slowly pushed myself up and spotted Alfred.

  I smiled at him and asked him,"Is everything okay, Alfred?"

  He returned my smile and said,"Master Bruce wishes to see you."

  I nodded and immediately followed Alfred. Alfred led me down to the Batcave, and I stared at Bruce.

  Bruce looked at me and put on his cowl saying,"Y/N, I need to talk to you."

  I nodded, and Bruce took my hands. He was about to say something, but Rachel had to call him. In response to her terrible timing, I rolled my eyes. Bruce looked at me confused, and then he frowned.
  Maybe I forgot to mention that Rachel and I never got along. We always acted like we cared for each other, because we both cared about Bruce not being upset. That was the only thing we ever agreed on.

  As Bruce held the phone to his ear, Bruce's expression turned from nervousness to happiness. I sighed and looked away, because whatever she had said made his day.
  I walked out towards the waterfall in Bruce's Batcave and took a deep breath, thinking in silence.

  I felt someone walk up behind me and said,"Miss Y/N, I do not think you should be so close to that edge."

  I chuckled weakly at Alfred and said,"Okay Alfred. So, what is it that you want to talk about?"

  He sighed and said,"I know you love him, but please do not ignore Master Bruce. That will only make things harder."

  I sighed.

  I said,"Alfred, how do I deal with loving Bruce, when he has feelings for Rachel? She has everything I do not, and we never see eye to eye. I try to be nice, but she always waves it off and says something back."

  Alfred went to say something, but I sniffed, and several tears poured down my face. 

  I sighed, asking him,"Alfred, why does it hurt so much?"

  He sighed and pulled me into a hug. Knowing how good Alfred's hugs were always made me feel better. I hugged Alfred back. He led me back to the living room; Rachel was here.

  I sent her a smile in front of Bruce and said,"Rachel, always a pleasure."

  She smiled back, but I could tell it was fake.

  Rachel said,"You, too. What brings you here?"

  I said, through my gritted teeth,"Just living and hanging out with Bruce. Is that an issue, because I sure wouldn't care if it was."

  She frowned and something was sure to come out of her mouth, when Bruce recognized the tension present in the room.

  Bruce said,"Ladies, maybe we should not argue right now. Rachel, let's go. Bye Y/N!"

  Bruce kissed me on the cheek and gave me a hug before saying,"Stay safe, okay? If you leave, let me know."

  I nodded and Bruce sent me a look, before he led Rachel towards the door. She looked back at me and smirked. Rachel made Bruce look at her and kissed him.
