Jason Todd x Requested Reader

   CHRISTIE'S POV

  I am a part of what was known the Outlaws. I have been a member of this talented group for a while now. Starfire and Roy are my best friends. Roy was very stubborn, yet sweet and protective. Starfire was very nice and a great person to talk to. 
  Jason was Jason, but he was incredibly sweet, overprotective, and very handsome. I doubt that Jason knew about my crush on him, though. I say this because of Blackfire, Starfire's sister.

  She always directed Jason's attention on herself and no one else. When I was weak or needed help, she all of a sudden needed Jason for something. Jason wanted to help, but something about her just always caused him to go to her.
  I needed advice on this matter, so I headed down the stairs to find Starfire and Roy. I found them in the kitchen as usual. Roy liked to eat, but he had mean archery skills being trained by the Arrow. Oliver was a friend, too. I sat down in front of Roy and Starfire and put my head down.
    
  I lifted my head for a second and they look at me confused, before I started to cry. Roy immediately figured out that this was about Jason again and wrapped his arms around me. I instantly hugged back and held on to him.
   Starfire tried to get me to talk about it. And I really needed to talk about it with someone, but I knew that there was a very small chance that Star knew what I was crying about.

  She asked me,"Christie, what's wrong?"

  I hesitantly confessed,"I think I'm in love with Jason. He's all I ever think about, but Blackfire has him wrapped around her finger. He notices me, but I just want to be with him. Blackfire has everything I don't. Maybe they deserve to be together, while I am unhappy."

  I just sobbed into Roy's suit, and I tried not to poke my eye out with one of his arrows on his side. Roy did not bother to try to get up. This happened often, actually. I would work up the courage to tell Jason how I felt, but then Blackfire would ruin those plans.

  Starfire just took my hand and said,"You are wonderful, Christie. You are intelligent, beautiful, funny, smart, and shy, but that only makes you better. Jason is a smart guy. He will figure out that my sister is not the right girl for him; you are. She has a habit of making people feel out of place. It happened to me while I was with the Titans and my friends couldn't even pay attention to me anymore, but Robin brought me back to my senses. Jason will come around and see you for the person you are. I know it is hard, but it will get better. Whatever happens, Roy and I will be there to help you out."

  I smiled a little and gave Starfire a hug saying,"You're the best. Thanks for comforting me. I needed that. Roy, don't let go, please?"

  Star smiled and began to read a book, while Roy just continued to hold me. Then, I stiffened when I heard Jason and Blackfire entering the kitchen together.

  Roy noticed and kissed my forehead whispering,"Everything's going to be fine. I got you. I'm not letting go."

  I just buried my face in Roy's neck, holding in the tears that threatened to fall. Roy and Kory said "hello" to Jason and Blackfire, but I just stayed quiet and tightened my grip on Roy's suit.

  Jason noticed and rushed to my side saying,"Is everything okay, babe?"

  I just shook my head. I wouldn't dare to show Jason my face.

  Jason frowned and rubbed my back saying,"What's wrong? Was it something I did? Did I forget about an important day of the year again?"

  I just dug my face deeper into Roy's neck.

  He tightened his grip and whispered to Jason,"She's not feeling okay, because she's sick."

  Jason nodded and turned my face towards him.

  Jason rested his forehead on mine saying,"What's really going on with you, Christie?"

  I did not know what to say, so I looked into his eyes and said,"Jay, I..."

  Jason realized I was uncomfortable, so he rested his forehead on my own again saying,"I love you."

  Shock was written across my face, but Jason did not mean it the way I wanted him to. He meant it in a best friend type of way, not in a "confessing my feelings" type of way. 

  I just smiled it off and quickly said,"Love you, too, Jay."

  He noticed and said,"We'll talk about it later. Ba-"

  Unfortunately, Jason did not get to finish. Bruce decided to call him at this exact moment in time. Jason sent me an apologetic smile and left the room to answer his call.

  After he left to answer the phone, Blackfire gave me a menacing glare and said,"Stay away from Jason, Christie. He's mine and mine only. You don't get your true love. He will never love you."

  I sniffed and started to cry again. Jason just happened to walk into the kitchen once again. Bruce could not hold him for 2 more minutes? Jason saw me crying and pulled me out of Roy's lap, before he took me outside.

  "What's going on with you and don't say nothing. Chris?"

  I hesitated but then took a chance saying,"Blackfire told me that I would never get to be with you and that you belong to her. Only her and no one else. I love you, Jason, and I don't want to lose you. Jay, I need you, and Blackfire always threatens me, or she calls me things when you are not around."

  Jason looked at me lovingly, before he pressed his lips against mine.

  I smiled, and he said to me,"I love you, too, Christie. I'm sorry if I made you feel out of place or sad. Blackfire is a nice girl, but she could never replace you."

  I smiled and pulled Jason in for another kiss, before we pulled away and walked back inside. Blackfire saw our fingers intertwined and ran toward me fuming; however, Jason stood in front of me protectively. He stared her down and watched her closely.

  Blackfire didn't budge, but she told me,"Don't think this is over, Christie, because it is far from over. Jason will come back to me in no time."

  I started to panic and rushed inside my room. Jason followed me and caught the door, before it could close. I sunk into the bed and cried even harder. I could lose him again...
  I felt Jason lie beside me. He pulled me into his arms, with his arms tight around my waist and my back faced towards him. I cried into the pillow, until Jason turned my face towards him. I looked at him and sniffed, but I could hold his gaze.

  Jason pulled my chin up saying,"Baby, you have nothing to worry about. You're not going to lose me again. I promise. Blackfire may be hard to handle, but I love you, not her, okay? Just trust me." 

  I just nodded and snuggled into Jason's side.

  Jason smiled and said,"I love you, Christie."

  I replied,"I love you, too, Jason."
