Y/N'S POV
I knocked on Clark's apartment door and waited for him to come open the door for me. However, after about six minutes of waiting, I knocked on his door again. Nothing, so I called him.
I said,"Hey, I'm here. Can you come open the door for me?"
Clark said,"Oh, I'm sorry, sweetheart. I'm coming."
Something sounded off with Clark, but he hung up and I put my phone in my pocket. Then, I heard footsteps and turned to see Clark heading down the hallway.
I was deeply confused and said,"I thought you were already here?"
He said,"I was."
Two words, that was all I got from Clark, before he opened the door for me. I walked inside and watched him walk over to the sofa. He just sat down and put his face in his hands. That was when he began to cry.
My eyes widened, and I said,"Clark..."
I rushed over to him and pulled him into my arms. He continued to cry, and I didn't know what was the best way to help him. Clearly, I was holding him, but I didn't know whether it was the right thing to do to ask him what the problem was.
I leaned on Clark, before his phone went off. I reached over and grabbed it, then I picked up his phone and saw that Lois was the one calling him.
I said,"Lois, Clark's busy. He'll have to call you back later."
Lois replied,"Can't he speak to me now?"
I rolled my eyes, before I hung up and put Clark's phone down on the table.
I held Clark tighter and said,"Baby, I have to ask you: What's wrong?"
Clark didn't respond to me. He only let his tears fall and closed his eyes. I was glad Martha wasn't here to see Clark like this. I knew it would've affected her. She was his mother, and Clark was everything to her.
I got up to get something for Clark, but he was gone before I even made it inside the kitchen. I groaned, then I looked over to see Clark had left his phone here. There goes trying to call him.
I rushed out of Clark's apartment and down the steps, before I ran to my car. Where could Superman be right now? Think, Y/N. Just think.
"Y/N?"
I turned and saw Lois.
She said,"You have some nerve hanging up on me."
I looked around her and down the road to see if Superman was possibly in this area.
Lois said,"Hey, I'm talking to you, Y/N. I don't know who you think you are, but I can talk to Clark. I knew him before you did."
I shrugged and got into my car, before I drove off and called Bruce. Hopefully, he could help me out. If Bruce didn't know, maybe Diana?
Bruce answered,"Yes, Y/N?"
I let out a sigh of relief, and Bruce chuckled saying,"Waiting for me to answer?"
I smiled, but I replied,"Bruce, don't be arrogant. I need your help. Clark was really upset, and then he just left. I'm really worried about him, and I was wondering if-"
Bruce said,"He's here at Wayne Manor."
I said,"He is?"
Bruce replied,"Yes, he is. Y/N, Martha passed away a couple of hours ago."
I didn't know how to process this, but I knew Clark needed me right now.
Bruce said,"Y/N?"
"I'm on my way. I'll be there in a few minutes."
Bruce hung up, before I quickly drove to Wayne Manor. Alfred let me inside, and I immediately rushed to Superman.
He held me and said,"Darling, I-"
I said,"Don't. I understand. Just know that I'm here. Let's sit."
I sat down with Superman, and I let him hold me. I let my own tears fall, and I did my best to comfort him.
4 HOURS LATER...
I cleaned up Clark's apartment for him, while he was out being Superman. I said a prayer that he'd be okay, before I finished getting Clark's bed ready for him to come back to.
When Superman flew in, he noticed his spotless apartment and said,"Sweetheart..."
I smiled saying,"I figured it was the least I could do. I've got you, Superman. You're not alone."
Superman smiled back at me and walked up to me. He kissed me, and I kissed back. He held on for a while, until he pulled away from the kiss.
He cupped my face saying,"Thank you. I'm going to need you, Y/N."
I replied,"I know, Clark. I intend to be here when you need me, like usual."
