"𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨— 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘺."
The professor paced across the front of the lecture hall, handing out the latest exam sheets one by one.
"Jeon Jungkook," he called.
Jungkook stood up from his seat in the third row, pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, and walked forward. The professor gave him a rare nod. "You did not disappoint."
Jungkook bowed politely, collected his paper, and returned to his seat without a word. He slid the paper neatly into his folder and immediately bent over his notes again, already preparing for the next thing.
The rest of the class was a mess of reactions—some whining about unfair grading, some celebrating loudly, some not even bothering to look at their score. You, on the other hand, had done well enough to not care. After sneaking a glance at your grade, you'd let your head drop onto your folded arms, drifting lazily through the noise.
"Now," the professor's voice cut through the chaos, "it's time for the internal group assessment. I've already made the teams—five members each. I want every group to select a leader and submit the name to me before you leave."
Groans echoed around the room, but everyone quieted as the professor began reading the lists.
"Group Four... Y/N, Jeon Jungkook, Mina, Juhoon, and Jake."
Your head lifted at the sound of your name. You blinked the sleep away, stretching slightly before glancing around to locate your group. Mina, a cheerful brunette you'd shared classes with before, gave you a little wave. Juhoon and Jake—both too busy comparing their grades—looked up just long enough to nod in acknowledgment. You returned it politely.
When your eyes finally landed on Jungkook, he didn't even look up. He was still bent over his notebook, pen moving swiftly across the page as if none of this had anything to do with him. The glasses perched on his nose glinted under the light, hiding his expression completely. You shrugged. Typical.
"Alright, group leaders, give me your names," the professor announced.
"I'll do it for us," Mina said brightly, already raising her hand before anyone could respond.
You, Jake, and Juhoon gave small gestures of agreement from your seats—none of you cared enough to fight her on it.
Jungkook didn't say a word. Not that you expected him to. Everyone knew he wasn't the type to handle people; his thing was solving the problem, not managing the group.
Still, for some reason, his silence made you glance back at him once more.
Mina was efficient, you had to give her that. Barely an hour after class ended, she was already blowing up everyone's phone with the café location and "mandatory attendance" message.
By the time you walked in, she was already seated with Juhoon and Jake, sipping on an iced latte like the responsible leader she claimed to be. Jungkook was in the corner seat, hood pulled over his head, glasses sliding down his nose as he typed something furiously into his laptop. His drink sat untouched, condensation pooling on the table.
"Y/N, over here!" Mina waved you over like you might miss the four of them entirely.
You slid into the empty chair, dropped your bag to the side, and ordered a drink while Mina got straight to business.
