"Ugh, I hate math," you groaned the second your teacher walked out, dropping your head onto the desk with a dull thud.

The weather outside seemed to agree with your mood—grey, heavy clouds pressing against the windows, the kind of sky that promised rain.

"Well, then you shouldn't have taken math," your best friend Somin teased, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "You should've gone with computer science and bio like me. But nooo, you just had to choose math and bio."

You let out a muffled sound into the desk. "Can't do anything about it now, can I?"

Somin laughed. "Nope, you can't." Then she glanced at the time. "Oh! I have to go. We've got stay-back today. Teacher's Day is coming up, and grade eleven is handling the assembly. We need all the practice we can get."

Your head snapped up. "So... you won't be walking home with me?"

She winced. "Sorry. We're going to the junior school for practice. You know how it is."

"Yeah, yeah. Go," you waved her off halfheartedly.

Somin grinned, gave you a quick wave, and dashed out of the classroom, leaving you alone.

You slumped back into your seat, staring out at the darkening sky. "Aish... walking alone again," you muttered before laying your head down on the desk, letting the lull of the weather pull you toward sleep.

By the time classes ended, the rain had already started, heavy drops splattering against the school courtyard. You stood just under the awning, glaring at the sky as if your frustration might scare the clouds away.

Great. Just great. No umbrella. No Somin. No one to walk home with. All you wanted was to crawl into bed, but instead, you were stuck watching everyone else dash away under colorful umbrellas, laughing and shouting as they hurried home.

You sighed, hugging your bag closer.

And then—suddenly—shade fell over you.

You blinked, tilting your head up. An umbrella hovered above your head, its edges dripping with rain. For a moment, it felt like one of those slow-motion movie scenes—your gaze trailing from the umbrella handle to the person holding it.

"...Jungkook?" you whispered, your voice barely audible over the downpour.

Jeon Jungkook. The quiet kid in class. The one no one really heard speak. He never made himself stand out—always there, but never loud, never noticed. And now... here he was, holding his umbrella over you.

"I can share," he said simply, like he'd read your thoughts.

You swallowed, fumbling. "Y-you don't have to."

"It's fine," he replied, already stepping forward. His voice was calm, almost gentle, and somehow you found your feet following his lead.

You kept sneaking glances at him, lost in thought. It took a while before you realized—you hadn't even told him where your house was. Yet when you finally looked up at the street around you... he was walking the right way.
