Tree quickly conference called Blake and Selena. "Hey guys, sorry to drop this on you, but I think Taylor needs you. She just rushed past me—she was crying. I think she's headed home, but I really don't think she should be alone."Blake replied instantly, concern evident in her voice. "We'll be there in 15 minutes."
"Alright, keep me updated when you see her," Tree said, nodding even though they couldn't see her.
Selena added, "Tree, I think you should give her a few days off."
Tree agreed. "Yeah, I was already thinking the same. Take care of her, okay?"
After hanging up, Tree hurried to Travis's room and found him sitting on the floor, deep in thought. She approached him carefully, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. "Travis?"
He snapped out of his thoughts, looking up at her with concern. "Have you seen Taylor? Is she alright?"
Tree sighed, her face softening with empathy. "Truthfully, I don't know. She just... left."
Travis's worry deepened. "Oh, okay."
"She'll be fine, Travis," Tree assured him, though her own worry was palpable. "It's been a while since I've seen her like this, but I know she'll pull through."
Travis hesitated before speaking again. "I think... I think she just had a panic attack. Please make sure she's not alone."
Tree gave him a small, reassuring smile. "I've already taken care of that."
He nodded in acknowledgment, his thoughts still tangled in concern for Taylor. After a brief pause, he asked, "If you don't mind me asking... who did she lose?"
Tree's expression turned sorrowful. "Someone she loved with her entire being."
Travis's confusion deepened. "What happened to him?"
Tree shook her head slightly. "It's not my place to tell you, Travis."
He realized he was pressing too much. "Right... sorry. Thanks for helping me out. I should probably go, too."
Tree nodded in agreement. "Oh, and I think I'll give Taylor a few days off. You can come back after that, or I can have Dr. Reynolds assigned to you."
Travis took a moment to consider. "I'll come back after a few days."
"Okay, I'll let you know when to come," Tree confirmed, and with that, Travis left the hospital, his mind still swirling with thoughts of Taylor.

Taylor's drive home was harrowing. She was barely holding herself together, the panic she had fought off earlier threatening to return with full force. By the time she reached her house, she was on the verge of breaking down again. She rushed inside, immediately grabbing her emergency meds and downing one with shaky hands. But even as she sank onto the living room floor, leaning heavily against the couch, the pressure in her chest remained, like a weight she couldn't shake.
She pressed her palms into the carpet, trying to ground herself, trying to push the panic back down. Tears blurred her vision, and her breath came in ragged gulps. The room spun slightly, her mind replaying flashes of the hospital, Travis's face, and then her own painful memories—memories she'd tried so hard to lock away, as if the dam that had held them back for so long had finally broken.
From the corner of the room, a soft meow broke through her spiraling thoughts. Benji, her loyal little companion, padded over, his soft fur brushing against her trembling hands. His wide, curious eyes stared up at her, sensing her distress. Without thinking, Taylor scooped him into her lap, clutching him to her chest as if he were a lifeline. She buried her face in his fur, the familiar warmth and softness providing a faint sense of comfort. She stroked his head absentmindedly, the repetitive motion grounding her, even as tears continued to stream down her cheeks.
