When Taylor entered the room for their session, her face brightened at the sight of Travis. "Hey," she greeted with a warm smile.
Travis matched her grin, feeling that familiar tug in his chest. "Hey yourself."
They sat down to start the session, but Taylor had something on her mind. "So, I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Yeah? What's up?"
She adjusted her chair, clearing her throat. "You've got about 6 more weeks of physio left, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with the progress we've made. But from now on, we're going to push your leg a bit harder. It needs to be stronger before you head into training camp, so you won't struggle as much."
Travis nodded, his eyes following every word she said, hanging on her every movement.
"It won't be easy at first," Taylor continued, her voice soft but encouraging. "There will be days where you'll feel frustrated. But you've come this far, Travis. Don't get stressed if you don't see results right away. It'll take time, but you'll get there."
"I promise I won't be a pain in the ass," he replied with a playful grin.
Taylor smiled, feeling the familiar warmth bloom in her chest. "Well, that would be a first," she teased. "Let's get started."
As they began the exercises, Taylor found herself growing more and more aware of Travis's presence. At one point, while she was adjusting his leg, a loose strand of her hair fell in front of her eyes. She tried to flick it away with a quick shake of her head, but it wouldn't stay back.
Without a word, Travis gently reached over and tucked the strand behind her ear. His fingers brushed her skin softly, and Taylor's breath hitched. Her cheeks flushed instantly, her heart skipping a beat.
"Thanks," she whispered, barely able to meet his gaze as her face burned with color. Travis smiled, his hand lingering for just a second longer before pulling away.
Taylor tried to focus, but the moment stuck with her. The simple touch had sent her heart racing, and she couldn't ignore the way her pulse quickened whenever he was close. This was getting harder to hide.

A few days later, Taylor noticed Travis glancing at her during their session. He kept looking at her when he thought she wasn't paying attention, then quickly turning his head when she caught him.
What was he doing?
Today, though, Travis was in full annoying-mode, determined to get a rise out of her. During their session, he asked her to repeat an exercise—five times.
"Travis, I've already shown you this stretch five times!" Taylor exclaimed, exasperated.
Travis grinned, making an innocent face. "But you explain it so well. One more time?"
She rolled her eyes, biting back a smile. "I swear, if you weren't my patient—"
He cut her off with a laugh. "C'mon, Tay. One more time."
And then came the drama. After an easy exercise, Travis plopped down on the bed, feigning exhaustion. "I can't go on. I'm done. I call it quits, doc."
Taylor gave him an unamused look. "You are such a baby sometimes, you know that?"
