It was finally Friday, and Taylor couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as she parked her car in the driveway of Travis's house. The week had been long, and seeing him was exactly what she needed to unwind.
She rang the bell, and it wasn't long before Travis opened the door, his signature smile lighting up his face. "Hey, beautiful," he greeted her softly, leaning in to press a kiss to her lips.
"Hey," Taylor replied, her smile growing as she kissed him back.
They spent the evening having dinner together, talking about their week, and then lounging on the couch. Taylor rested her head on Travis's shoulder as they flipped through Netflix, but her thoughts kept wandering. She could sense Travis was distracted too, his fingers absentmindedly playing with hers. She glanced up at him.
"Alright," she said, sitting upright and facing him. "What's on your mind? I can tell something's up."
Travis chuckled softly, sitting up as well. "Am I that obvious?"
Taylor tilted her head, giving him a knowing look. "You're an open book sometimes. Spill it."
He exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "I've been thinking... about us."
Taylor's brows furrowed, but she waited patiently.
Travis continued, choosing his words carefully. "I wanted to know how you'd feel about us making our relationship public."
Taylor blinked. "Public? What do you mean exactly?"
Travis shifted slightly, turning to face her fully. "I mean... Look, I'm not that famous, but being an NFL player comes with some spotlight. I'd love for you to come to my games, you know? Be there, cheering me on. And... I want to introduce you as my girlfriend. To the world."
Taylor's lips parted slightly in surprise. She could see the vulnerability in his eyes, the way he fidgeted with his hands. This wasn't easy for him to bring up.
"Take your time," he added quickly, noticing her hesitation. "I get it if it's not something you're ready for. I just... I want us to be able to be ourselves, no hiding."
Taylor bit her lip, processing his words.
Travis continued, his voice softer now. "I just want to make sure you're comfortable with it. I mean, I'd love to have you at my games, to share that part of my life with you, but I also know this isn't exactly... normal."
Taylor took a moment to process what he was saying. Her heart swelled at how much he cared, not just about her but about being open about their relationship. After a pause, she smiled softly.
"I'm fine with it," she said quietly.
Travis's eyes widened, and he leaned back slightly. "Wait, you are? Just like that?"
Taylor laughed lightly, leaning back against the couch. "Yeah, I mean... it's not like we've been hiding or anything. If I start showing up at your games or we're seen out together more, people are bound to figure it out eventually. So why not just own it?"
Travis let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, a wide grin spreading across his face. "I was ready to give you the whole 'no-pressure' speech, but you're making this too easy."
Taylor laughed again, resting her head on his shoulder. "Don't get used to it, Kelce."
Travis hummed in agreement, wrapping his arms around her. "You're amazing, you know that?"
Taylor smiled against his chest. "I know."
He chuckled, kissing the top of her head. "But there's one more thing I want to talk about."
