Today was the NFL Conference Championship, one last step before the Super Bowl.
Taylor hadn't missed a single one of Travis's games this season. She wanted to be there for him, supporting him every step of the way. They were now just one game away from the Super Bowl. The thought of Travis potentially playing in his first Super Bowl was surreal, and she felt her chest swell with pride at everything he had achieved. Despite the injury he'd recovered from, Travis had played the season like an absolute warrior. He made it seem effortless, though Taylor knew better. She had seen how hard he worked—how much he gave to the game he loved.
Sitting in the Kelce family suite, Taylor was on edge. Her leg bounced uncontrollably, her hands clasped together tightly as her eyes remained glued to the field below. The last quarter was dragging on, and every second felt like an eternity. Even Donna couldn't help but notice Taylor's nerves.
Donna placed a comforting hand on Taylor's bouncing leg. "Relax, honey. It's okay. Take a breather."
Taylor shook her head, not taking her eyes off the action. "Oh, I can't relax until that timer hits zero."
Donna chuckled, her voice lighthearted. "Welcome to the club. You'll get the hang of it eventually."
Taylor glanced over, incredulous. "How are you so calm? How are you not losing it?"
Donna smiled knowingly, wrapping an arm around Taylor's shoulders. "Sweetheart, when you have both of your sons playing professional sports, you learn how to make your anxiousness internal. Comes with practice."
Taylor chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. "Hats off to you. I can barely handle just one."
Their moment was interrupted as the camera panned to their suite, catching the two women mid-laugh. The commentators joked, "Over at the Kelce suite, Mama Kelce and Miss Taylor seem to be sharing something funny. We'd love to be in on the joke, ladies!"
Taylor and Donna exchanged looks before waving to the camera. Taylor, always quick-witted, quipped, "You can try!" The crowd laughed in response, and Taylor felt her nerves ease, if only for a moment.
The game wore on, the stakes climbing higher with every play. Then, finally, it happened—the Chiefs won. The roar of the stadium was deafening, and Taylor jumped to her feet, screaming alongside the fans.
"We won! We won!" Taylor shouted, practically bouncing in place. She turned to Donna, hugging her tightly as they both laughed. "We're going to the Super Bowl!"
"Yes, we are," Donna said, her eyes shining with pride.
Taylor's gaze shifted back to the field, searching for Travis. When their eyes met, even from a distance, she could see the joy radiating from him. He was grinning so wide it looked like his face might break. He raised his hands and made a heart shape, and Taylor immediately mirrored the gesture, laughing as her cheeks flushed.
As the celebration continued, Taylor and Donna made their way down to the field. Travis hugged Donna first, lifting her slightly off the ground and planting a kiss on her cheek. Then his eyes landed on Taylor.
She ran to him, throwing her arms around his neck as he pulled her into a tight embrace. She kissed him firmly, her hands gripping his face. "I am so proud of you!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with emotion.
Travis held her close, his forehead resting against hers. "We're going to the Super Bowl, baby," he said, his voice full of awe.
"Yes! You did it! You're going to rock it, I know you will!" she replied, her hands sliding down to his chest.
