Taylor and Travis were curled up in bed, their legs entangled like a perfect puzzle, his arm draped protectively across her waist. The quiet rhythm of their breathing filled the room, and the early morning light seeped through the curtains, casting soft streaks of gold across their faces.

And then—

BEEP BEEP BEEP.

The loud, incessant sound of the alarm clock shattered the peace.

Taylor groaned, scrunching her face as she buried it deeper into Travis's chest. Her hand instinctively moved to his cheek, patting him in half-conscious irritation.

"Trav," she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.

Travis didn't even flinch. He was completely out.

Taylor's brows furrowed as she patted him again, harder this time. "Travvv!" she said louder, her patience thinning. "Turn off your alarm!"

Finally, with a disgruntled groan, Travis reached blindly for his phone on the bedside table and fumbled to shut off the alarm. As the beeping stopped, peace resumed—or so he thought.

Taylor sighed, trying to drift back to sleep, but something felt off. Her body was still, but her mind was suddenly awake, replaying fragments of something vivid, something... important. Sleep wouldn't come to her, no matter how much she tried.

With a sharp inhale, Taylor sat up abruptly, groaning as she ran her fingers through her tangled hair. "Ugh, why in the world would you set an alarm on a day we could sleep in?" she complained, her voice tinged with irritation and exhaustion.

She climbed out of bed without waiting for a reply, leaving Travis lying there, half-dazed.

Travis cracked one eye open and stared at the ceiling in confusion. "What did I do now?" he mumbled to himself, his voice scratchy with sleep.

In the kitchen, Taylor poured herself a glass of water, the coolness soothing her throat as she leaned against the counter. Her thoughts were restless, the vividness of her dream refusing to fade. With a shake of her head, she carried her glass to the living room and plopped down on the couch, pulling a blanket over her lap. Grabbing the remote, she began scrolling through Netflix, trying to distract herself.

A few moments later, Travis appeared in the doorway, his hair adorably tousled, his black T-shirt slightly wrinkled. He walked over to her and sank onto the couch, pulling her into his side without saying a word. Her head naturally rested on his shoulder, as if it were the most familiar place in the world.

"What's wrong, baby?" Travis asked softly, his voice still heavy with sleep but laced with concern.

Taylor sighed, playing with the edge of the blanket. "You'll think it's silly."

"I promise I won't," he said, his tone serious. "Scout's honor."

She glanced up at him, her skeptical gaze meeting his. "You were never a scout."

Travis grinned. "Doesn't mean I can't be honorable." He squeezed her shoulder gently. "Come on, talk to me. What's on your mind?"

Taylor hesitated, the vividness of her dream still swirling in her mind. Finally, she spoke, her voice soft but steady. "I was having this incredible dream."

Travis tilted his head, intrigued. "What about?"

She looked up at him, her lips curving into a small, wistful smile. "Us."

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "Now you've got my attention. Go on."

"In the dream," Taylor began, her voice quiet, "everything was different. We met years ago—way before we ever did in real life."
