As always, she could feel number 3 burning a hole in her face, as if she had heat ray vision or something stupid like that. You would think her mother would have taught her not to stare, but shes a stripper so her mother must have not taught her a lot of things. Not to bag on strippers they just have no self respect or class, that's an opinion obviously because the way Aubrey treated them it was obvious he liked them a lot. She swallowed at the lump in her throat as she continued to keep her gaze on the television, the new channel played of course.
"Man, it must suck to be you."
Aubrey look over at delicious who stare hardly at Nina, she didn't look over though. She kept watching the TV not even caring what delicious had to say.
"I mean seriously, you cant do anything. Your like a dog, constantly having to be watched, cant do anything."
Nina didn't say anything, she didn't look her way because she simply didn't care what she had to say. Then again, Nina didn't really care what anybody had to say. Of course she listened when needed but she didn't really care, she had a lot on her plate believe it or not and caring what people thought or said was the last thing she had in mind.
"hey, bitch! im talking to you!"
That grabbed her attention, she looked from the TV and over to a frustrated looking delicious. Aubrey stare at her a bit appalled at the fact that she just called her a bitch
"delicious, you need to apolo-"
"what is the point in apologizing? Thats what she is, a bitch. Shes watched and taken care of like a dog so that only proves my point more."
Nina stare at her with narrowed eyes, her mind raced with all the things she could do to number 3 right now but she wouldn't dare do any of them. That would end in punishment, if that. Aubrey would most likely send her back to The Protection Program head quarters and that would most likely end up in more time at the detention correctional center.
"Delicious, that's enough."
The room grew silent as the two girls have a stare off, one move and Nina felt as if shit would pop off like a gang rumble. Stare offs were way to well known for her, it was what started fights and it was what started blood baths.
"i think you should leave."
Number 3 was the first one to look away, which meant Nina won. The first person to look away automatically lost and the winner was crowned the dominant, but Nina already knew for a fact she was on top while number 3 was way on the bottom. It was a god given fact that Nina was better then her, in all ways possible even with prison records.
"Your kicking me out?"
"yes. collect your things and leave. I can call you a cab now."
He pulled his phone out from his pocket, for once she felt like Aubrey deserved a good pat on the back. She knew that number 3 needed to leave as soon as she stepped foot in the door, but it was Aubrey's house so everything was up to him and not her. But if it were up to her... Number 3 wouldn't have been allowed to step foot on the porch. She scuffed before standing up and stomping off to the master bedroom, Nina bit down on the inside of her cheek to keep from smiling as she returned her gaze to the TV. Damn, it felt good to be on top.
The sound of the door closing took her attention from the news that played calmly on TV, she glanced over towards where the front door was but she couldn't see it due to a wall blocking her view.
"Nina....."
She swallowed hard as her heart pounded a bit, that didn't sound good. That was how people called her name when she was in trouble, that was how people called her name when she was about to get disciplined. She hated the way her name sounded coming from anybody, but she hated when it was said in that manor the most.
"Nina, come here..."
She stood up and gripped the end of her shirt, she shuffled around the couch and into the hallway where Aubrey stood patiently at the door. Her movement was slow because she dreaded whatever came next, she looked up at him with a blank stare as she stopped in front of him, waiting for whatever it was he needed. She flinched as he pulled her in for a hug, it was unexpected and she didn't know what to do or what to say. She stood there with her eyes wide as he had her engulfed in his arms, he was warm and she could hear his heart beat at a steady rate as her head lay against his firm chest. She swallowed down as he let go and put his hands on her upper arms
"im sorry about that, she was over the top. I think she was jealous of you."
Jealous? What was there to be jealous of. If anything Nina was jealous of her in some ways, she was free and eligible to do what she wanted but instead she sat in a house and acted jealous of Nina. As stupid as it was, it brought her a little bit of joy to know that
"Well, i just wanted to apologize for that and your allowed to go to your room now. But, be ready in 45 minutes i have an errand to run i guess you could say."
She stood there, staring up at him. Not in the eyes though, she continued to swallow at the lump in her throat that seemingly grew more and more and she didn't know how to stop it. She felt as if the more it grew the more she was suffocating on her own thoughts and it was gonna kill her.
"you can go now.."
With that she turned on her heels and ran up the stairs, faster then intended as she skipped one and went up two at a time. She had to get out of that situation, it was awkward to her but to him it seemed totally normal to hug someone who clearly didn't want to be talked to. Let alone be held against him. She got to her room and quickly closed the door, she slid down against the white wood and brought her knees to her chest and at that moment
She couldn't help but smile.
