Soft. Smooth. Warm. They were all good words for how her skin felt against his, it was soft, smooth, warm. She lay there with her eyes opened just thinking about the position she was in at this moment, she lay with her head on his chest, her body snuggled against his. She thought it was bad as if she shouldn't be doing it but damn it felt good. It felt good to be held, to be cradled with care like a newborn, she loved the feeling yet thought otherwise. His arms hugged her body in all the right places making her feel safe and loved, which is what she had been needing ever since the night Rashad died and that was over 5 years ago. she tightened her grip on his shirt as she pulled it up more to her nose, she inhaled his aroma, it was a scent she was getting used to him and she liked it a lot. It was faint, so it wasn't so overwhelming yet it still gave off a good smell to the point where it made her stop and think "damn, he smells good".
His hold around her tightened as he pulled her closer, if possible. She nestled up to him a little more, lifting her head and placing it in the crevice of his neck instead of on his chest, she liked it there too. It was warm and cozy just like her previous spot. She lifted a finger and began to trace his jaw line that was covered by a nicely organized five o'clock shadow, she wasn't usually attracted to men who had any type of facial hair but it looked good on him. It fit him in a way that turned her on slightly and she liked that a lot too.
"Good morning angel."
His voice was groggy and sleepy, she liked that too. Her heart fluttered in rhythm with the butterflies in her stomach, she snuggled a little closer putting her nose to his neck and inspiring his cologne once more. She felt one of his arms move from around her waist and up a little so he could caress her bare arm, his hands were warm and smooth like the rest of him. She got goosebumps as her skin tingled for more of him, it was something she had been craving and she didn't even know it
"Good morning."
He took in a deep breath but let it out slowly, he was relaxed. Comfortable. He was feeling the same way as she was, he wanted to hold her as much as she wanted to be held. And now that it was happening, they both didn't want to let go. She sat up, still straddling him, and looked down at him. His smile was genuine as his hands move down to her hips once again, he caressed her sides on the way giving her a tingly sensation. She rubbed his chest, feeling the soft white material that made his t-shirt, the both of them sit there. Not speaking just looking. Taking in each others beauty.
For the first time, ever, she looked him in the eyes. It was a little weird but it was a good weird, she wasn't used to that. She had a mind set and had been brainwashed that looking someone in the eyes was considered fighting words without even speaking but this time it wasn't fighting words. It was words that showed emotion, showed how they really felt and it made her feel good on the inside and before she knew it his lips were connected to hers. He used his right hand to stroke her cheek lovingly, his lips were soft. They were plush and perfectly matched with hers, her heart pounded inside of her chest as he pulled her closer to him.
She panicked, she didn't know what to do. She didn't know what move to make so she pulled away. She regretted it as soon as it happened but she went with the flow from there, she pulled away and hopped off on him while running a hand through her messy hair
"I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready."
His eyes were still closed as he nodded his head, he was in a daze i guess you could say. His heart was pounding in his chest and his stomach was in knots, he kissed and did many things with many girls but never in his life did cuddling and one small kiss feel so good. His insides burned with fire as she walked away, he had half a mind to go scoop her up and kiss her again but he knew he had to get ready as well. Once she got in her room the smile didn't leave her face once, she took a shower and got ready. The whole time grinning wider then the Mississippi River. That was the best shes slept, ever. She couldn't remember a time she slept so well, only going way back to when her and Rashad were a thing.
That was the thing though, she felt as if she had just cheated in a way. She had her whole life committed to this man and she felt as if all that commitment was thrown out the window when Aubrey's lips were against hers. She looked over at the dresser where the gold necklace lay gently, she shuffle over and pick it up feeling the cold gold under her fingertips. The heart was warm as always giving her a nostalgic feeling from when she first received it. She smile to herself thinking about Rashad and back home in Houston, three months. Three months.
She snapped from her trance at the sound of her name being called from downstairs. Aubrey. She smile as she think about how good he looked in his work suit, it was a look she knew to well and couldn't help but think about how attractive he was. She quickly snapped the chain around her neck and turned on her heels before running from the room, she stood at the top stair looking down at him as he stare up at her in complete lust.
"Ready?"
She nodded her head yes as she began to skip down the stairs, he blocked her way from getting around him but that was okay because he wrapped his arms around her. He was warm and smelled amazing which was no shock, his cologne was different, it was a new scent that she wasn't used to but she liked it. She was happy, not just a fake happy but a genuine happy. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and Aubrey held her hand the whole ride to the office.
Today was a good day.
