chapter 41: first words

Third person pov:

Siobhan and Vivian had just celebrated their beautiful wedding and were eagerly counting down the days until their honeymoon, which was only a week away. Jamie was off having a fun time with Reece and Marjorie, leaving Siobhan and Vivian with their 10-month-old twins, Harper and Hailey, for some quality family time.

That evening, Siobhan decided to put on Cinderella for the girls. The soft glow of the television filled the cozy living room as the twins sat on their play mat, surrounded by colorful toys, their eyes wide with wonder at the animated characters dancing across the screen. Vivian snuggled next to Siobhan on the couch, a relaxed smile on her face as they watched the twins enjoying the show.

As the movie played, something magical happened, fitting for the fairytale unfolding in front of them. Harper was babbling excitedly, her tiny voice full of energy. Suddenly, her babbles became clear, and she looked over at her sister, reaching out a chubby hand and giggling, "Hay Hay."

Siobhan gasped, turning to Vivian with wide eyes. "Did she just...?"

"She said Hay Hay!" Vivian whispered, equally stunned but grinning.

Before they could fully process Harper's first word, Hailey, who had been watching her sister with curiosity, turned to Siobhan. Her tiny lips pursed, and with a sweet, soft voice, she said, "Mama."

Siobhan's heart melted instantly, and tears welled in her eyes. She bent down, scooping Hailey into her arms. "Did you just say 'Mama'?" she whispered, overcome with emotion.

Vivian smiled warmly, placing a gentle hand on Siobhan's back as she picked up Harper. "We just witnessed their first words together."

With Harper still babbling "Hay Hay" and Hailey looking lovingly at Siobhan, the evening felt nothing short of magical. Their hearts were full, and even though their honeymoon was just around the corner, this moment was a gift they would treasure forever.
