Siobhan stood in front of the mirror in the master bedroom, staring at her reflection as she adjusted the last few strands of hair into place. The excitement bubbling inside her felt surreal. It was happening; she and Vivian were about to leave for their long-awaited honeymoon to Paris. The City of Love had always been a dream destination, but life had kept them busy. Now, with their children-five-year-old Jamie and the ten-month-old twins, Harper and Hailey-safely in the care of their friends and family, they were finally getting a chance to make it a reality.

Vivian walked in from the hallway, a smile dancing across her lips as she admired Siobhan from the doorway. "Ready, love?" she asked softly, her voice filled with equal parts excitement and hesitation. Though Paris beckoned, it wasn't easy leaving their babies behind, even for a week.

"Ready as I'll ever be," Siobhan said with a chuckle, turning to face her wife. "But it's hard, isn't it?"

Vivian nodded, walking up and wrapping her arms around Siobhan's waist. "It is. But they'll be in good hands. Mia and Charlotte will spoil the twins, and Jamie will have an absolute blast with Winter and Autumn. Still, it feels strange to be away from them, even just for a little while."

Siobhan leaned into the embrace, finding comfort in Vivian's warmth. "I know. We've never been apart from the twins, and Jamie's been asking a hundred questions about what we'll be doing in Paris. But you're right; it's good for us to take this time."

They stood together for a moment, soaking in the shared silence, before reluctantly pulling away. Their suitcases were packed, the last-minute checks complete, and their taxi was scheduled to arrive in just a few minutes.

Downstairs, the atmosphere was a flurry of excitement and anticipation. Mia and Charlotte were already at the house, happily entertaining Harper and Hailey in the living room. The twins, oblivious to their parents' upcoming absence, were giggling and babbling as Mia made silly faces and Charlotte bounced them gently on her knees.

Meanwhile, Jamie, clutching his favorite stuffed animal-an orange and white fox-was pacing around the entryway. Her excitement about her own adventure staying with Winter and Autumn was hard to contain. He'd been chattering nonstop about the activities they had planned, from visiting the zoo to making crafts.

When Siobhan and Vivian walked downstairs, Jamie rushed toward them. "Mommy! Mama! Are you leaving now?"

Siobhan crouched down to Jamie's level, smiling as she took her sons hands. "Yes, sweetheart, we're about to leave for the airport. You're going to have so much fun with Winter and Autumn, though. You'll barely notice we're gone!"

"I'll notice," Jamie replied, his lip quivering slightly before he composed herself. "But I'm excited too! We're going to the zoo and seeing the penguins!"

Vivian knelt beside them, pulling Jamie into a hug. "That sounds amazing. We want to hear all about it when we get back, okay? And you can show us all the pictures you take."

Jamie's face brightened again at the thought. "I will! You'll love them!"

Vivian and Siobhan stood, giving Mia, Charlotte, and the twins one last round of hugs and kisses. Harper babbled happily in response, while Hailey gave a small wave, which melted both their hearts.

"Promise us you'll call if anything comes up," Siobhan said to Mia and Charlotte, her protective instinct kicking in as she glanced at the twins one last time.

"Don't worry, we've got it covered," Charlotte assured them with a smile. "You two go enjoy your honeymoon. Paris is waiting."

Vivian took Siobhan's hand, squeezing it gently as they made their way to the waiting taxi. As they pulled away from the house, the reality of the trip began to sink in, both exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time.
