Third person pov:
The family was gathered in the living room, the soft murmur of conversation and the occasional sound of Jamie’s giggles filling the air. Siobhan and Vivian sat on the couch, relaxed but keeping a watchful eye on the twins, who were cuddled up on the floor together with their favorite plush toys.
Jamie, full of energy and curiosity, was watching his baby sisters closely. He had noticed how Harper was getting more and more adventurous lately, pulling herself up on things and crawling everywhere. His little mind lit up with an idea.
“Mama, I wanna help Harper and Hailey walk!” Jamie announced, standing up suddenly with a look of determination.
Siobhan raised an eyebrow and smiled. “You want to teach them how to walk, buddy?”
Jamie nodded eagerly. “Yeah! Harper’s getting really good at standing. I bet I can help her take steps.”
Vivian chuckled softly. “Alright, but you have to be gentle with them, okay?”
Jamie grinned and nodded, already focused on Harper. He knelt down in front of her, gently taking her tiny hands in his. “Okay, Harper, we’re gonna walk now! You gotta stand up.”
Harper blinked up at him, her eyes wide and curious. She wobbled a bit but managed to pull herself into a standing position with Jamie’s help. Jamie, thrilled by the progress, took a small step back, still holding her hands. “Come on, Harper! One foot, then the other!”
Harper, clinging tightly to her big brother’s hands, shifted her weight, lifting one foot off the ground and placing it in front of her. Jamie cheered, his excitement contagious. “Good job, Harper! You did it!”
Vivian and Siobhan watched, beaming as Harper took another tiny, wobbly step, then another, with Jamie’s guidance. Jamie’s encouragement kept her going, and soon Harper was taking slow, shaky steps toward him, her face lighting up with every step she managed to take.
“She’s doing so well,” Siobhan whispered, her heart swelling with pride as she watched Jamie be so patient and kind with his baby sister.
Once Harper reached Jamie, she let out a little giggle, and Jamie, proud of his work, clapped his hands. “Harper, you’re walking! You did it!”
Not one to be left out, Hailey, who had been watching with interest, started squirming. Jamie turned to her with a grin. “Your turn, Hailey!” He moved over and held out his hands to her. “Come on, I’ll help you too.”
Hailey, always the more cautious of the two, looked at her brother with a bit of hesitation, but when Jamie took her hands, she smiled. With a little more effort, she pulled herself up, her legs wobbling as she tried to find her balance. Jamie, just as patient as before, slowly stepped back, encouraging her.
“You can do it, Hailey! Just like Harper!”
Hailey, determined not to be outdone, took a tentative step, her movements slower and more careful than Harper’s. But with Jamie’s steady hands guiding her, she managed to take a few steps forward, her face lighting up with a huge smile when she realized what she was doing.
“See, Hailey? You’re walking too!” Jamie said, beaming with pride as she made her way toward him.
By the time Hailey reached Jamie, she was giggling just like Harper had, clearly proud of herself. Jamie wrapped his arms around both twins, hugging them tightly. “You’re both the best walkers!” he declared.
Siobhan and Vivian exchanged a glance, their hearts full as they watched their three children together.
“They’re lucky to have such a sweet big brother,” Vivian said softly, leaning her head on Siobhan’s shoulder.
