It had been over a month since the breakup, and Yoongi wasn't doing as well as he said he was. He isolated himself in work, and anything that could possibly take his mind away from Kat, even if just for a few minutes.
He went through his hard drives looking through old ideas he though might've been worth turning into a full-blown production. After a while of exploring old files, he came across an old folder that was very familiar to him. There were the song projects he made with Kat. He felt a pang on his chest, as he clicked one of the projects. Memories were flooding his mind, Kat's excitement as they worked further on this idea, the way she looked when she was focused, the way she played the guitar and how she looked so beautiful doing what she loved.
He couldn't help but to think about how these projects started their entire relationship. How because of her, he had started to play the guitar. He looked over to the wall of his studio, the black acoustic guitar sitting there, igniting a spark of nostalgia in his heart. Kat truly had turned his life upside down, and he was still learning how to live without her.
His eyes drifted to his wrist, the watch she'd gifted him was still there. He chuckled remembering the way she always had a thing for his hands. During his lifetime he had received many compliments, but she was the first person to ever tell him his hands were sexy.
He then looked at his phone, wondering if he should call or text her, see how she was doing. He knew that the members would still talk to her sometimes, but he was way too hurt to ask them how she was doing. He shook his head and went back to what he was doing. He selected the folder from his hard drive and copied it to his desktop, he was going to go through it once his mind calmed down.
On the other side of the globe, Kat herself was doing okay. She was still hurting and finding ways to heal, but at least now didn't spend her days crying. She wanted to know how Yoongi was doing, but didn't want to talk to him so soon, so she had been talking to the rest of BTS. She begged them to not let Yoongi overwork himself or skip meals, even if they were not together anymore, she wanted to see him doing well. The guys promised her they would take care of Yoongi, and she took their word. She knew she could count on Jin to keep him well fed.
The band members of both bands expressed how shocked and saddened they were by the news of their split. Everyone that had been around them thought they were meant to be. The rest of Crazy Saints kept in contact with Yoongi, but not once did he ask them about Kat, whereas she'd ask about him all the time.
More days went by, marking almost a month and a half since their breakup Yoongi was going to LA to work on some songs with other people. It was weird for him; this was the first time in a very long time that he'd book a hotel to stay in the city. The first time he wouldn't immediately call Kat and make plans together for his stay.
It all felt very weird, in moments like this, the breakup felt more real.
He entered the studio and greeted everyone, setting his laptop up and looking around the room curiously. Everyone got to work, it felt nice for Yoongi to produce with other people after a very long time of not collaborating.
The session was going well, when the main audio engineer announced they still needed to record some guitar and electric bass for the song. Yoongi looked around the room expecting some of the other people present to pick the instruments up, and get the job done, when suddenly he heard a familiar voice coming from the doorway.
"No, it can't be!" he thought.
"Sorry we're late, we couldn't find a parking spot. What did we miss?" that voice, that sweet velvety voice that once brought him the utmost joy, now only brought him pain. And her smell, how could Yoongi ever forget that smell...
