The date with Kurt was every bit of amazing. Who would've thought that the same man that wore war paint, smashed the drums and played in one of the heaviest metal bands in the world, could actually be such a gentleman. For starters, his attire was so simple yet complimented his looks so well. Dark blue dress pants, and a white t-shirt with a dark blue blazer on top. It still felt surreal for Kat to think that the man she grew up admiring had asked her on a date.
She wasn't planning on doing more than just that one date, but his charms were addictive. So, when he asked her on a second date, she obviously said yes. And when after a couple of dates, he asked her to be his girlfriend, she also said yes without even thinking.
He was kind, and his calm energy brought Kat the balance she needed in her life. He always made sure to make some time at the end of the day to call her. And his visits were very regular. More regular than her visits.
It felt nice to have someone finally put in the effort. After Kat's last long-distance relationship failed, she was skeptical of ever trying once again, but Kurt did not disappoint. Unlike Yoongi. He let her down countless times, then wondered why she felt like the relationship wasn't working. She barely thought of Yoongi these days, with work and her new boyfriend keeping her busy. She only thought of him every once in a while, when she would involuntarily start comparing Kurt to Yoongi in her mind.
Yoongi was a better lover; he was more passionate both emotionally and physically. But he failed tremendously when it came to putting in the effort, making time for her and being there when she needed. Kurt on the other hand was a little more conservative with the amount of emotion he showed, and physically he was a good lover too. Nothing extraordinary like Yoongi, no, nothing like that, but definitely satisfied her. She had to admit though, that she missed the way her and Yoongi were so in sync with each other regarding life goals, ambitions and things of that sort.
Her and Kurt had been dating for a relatively short amount of time, and he was already speaking of marriage and having kids. Kat had no plans to do any of those in the near future, however, he was adamant they should do it soon.
Kat would sometimes exchange short texts with Yoongi, nothing like when they were dating, or even before that, when they were just friends. But every now and then they would check in on each other, just to make sure things were going well. One detail she had consistently omitted from Yoongi, was that she was dating someone again. She wasn't sure how he'd react, or if she should even tell him in the first place.
Her plans of keeping it hidden from Yoongi were however, destroyed, as more and more news articles about her new relationship started to roll out. It was only a matter of time until Yoongi found out.
The good thing of dating someone like Kurt, is that his fans didn't care nearly as much about who he was dating. So, unlike her relationship with Yoongi, she could be more carefree when she went out with Kurt. Who cares if they're dating, she thought? What she forgot was how incendiary the topic of age gaps was, and so when articles about her dating life started to pop up more and more frequently, it often went viral with people split between criticizing her choice and supporting her. And as much as it bothered her that people would follow her anywhere just to get a good picture of the two, she loved some of the cute moments the paparazzi managed to capture of the two.
Yoongi was in his bedroom reading a book, when suddenly Jimin and Namjoon knocked, asking if they could come in. Yoongi allowed them in, unaware that that would be a mistake.
"Hey hyung. We just wanted to see how you were doing."
"I'm doing fine, just doing some reading."
"Wow, you're reacting better than I expected!" Namjoon explained. Instantly Jimin shot him a death glare. Yoongi had probably no clue that something was going on, and Namjoon just blew it.
